YAY! I was going to yesterday, but I forgot and then I didn't have time- I organized my mp3s when I got home from work earlier! I put project names, subunit names and the title of the song as the name of each dub. I put all the solos in one folder and moved some stuff around. Now it makes sense and I can find things easier!
I've had Egao 9's Morning Curry, Amai Hikage (Shizen) 's Iku ZYX, Dez-Air's 2 Different Tears, Boyono's Yume Miru 15sai, and Motto Imouto's GURURU in my head so much lately. Plus other stuff- dubs are always cycling around in my head. There are so many thing I'm itching to blog about, but I've got to make myself do one thing at a time, lol.
I got in touch with Amaya, leader of KonichibaPro, and got the latest news. They are a heartbeat away from hitting 100 subscribers!! I read the obvious pride in her words as she told me about how the project made it through a inactive period and how "the number of subscribers have rocketed up" since their Ookina ai de Motenashite dub, released back in June.
Another thing that has please Amaya and has caused a lot of positivity amongst the members is Konichiba's 1st anniverary! They released their celebratory dub of Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou on August 29th- sixteen singers participated altogether and did a really nice job. If you know me, you know that I love this song. Amaya was a sweetheart and gave me the mp3 for the dub~
Since their beginning, KP has released more than 40 dubs! Back in May when I asked Amaya some questions about the project, her reply to one I ask a lot (What would you say is the goal of your project?) was "I want to make progress as a group and be successful but also, I think that mainly, it is to have fun and interact with new people!" I'm glad that in the four months since, the project has grown in many ways and hope they continue to have fun!
In other news, Konichiba has a new subunit! It's called Karai and they will be covering all B-sides and album songs from Buono! I love it when non-Asides are dubbed!! The main songs are cool, but everyone gets tired of them in some way. I know I do, lol. Buono has a lot of awesome c/w tracks and concert-performed album songs. So I look forward Karai's debut!
Yajima Maimi: Veri [ everidian17 ] Nakajima Saki: Nakky [ ILA1080 ] Suzuki Airi: Michi [ michiyomichi123 ] Okai Chisato: Eva [ airisuzuki24 ] Hagiwara Mai: Mariko [ KiPi2018 ] Campus Life ~ Umarete Kite Yokatta ~ by Hoshizora (KonichibaProject) / This song is pretty popluar lately. And this dub of it is cuuuute!! So much sweetness. All the girls did a splendid job on their lines, though they need a little more umph! There is energy overall, but it's sort of subtle. It's not the first thing to jump out at you, the cuteness is; which isn't a bad thing. The solos are swell, but I favor the chorus.
Tomodachi wa Tomodachi Nanda by Straeberrie / Yes I've said it a bunch before, oodles of times I'm sure, but I still say YAY to people who sing this song, cause though it's not the hardest song ever; pronunciation is easy to trip up when singing on these faster melodies. There are a variety of voices in this, some suit their parts more than others but we all know that doesn't matter in the least, for all the girls in this cast sound wonderful!
Props to Miyazu and Mari for being helpful covers! They both did an awesome job on their lines! I have to say that Eva catches my attention the most, she sounds so good and delivers really well. The three girls just mentioned -plus the charming Michi- have the most lines, since their H!P girls get a lot of spotlight. All of their solos are marvelous!
Mokachan! I'm surprised at how quiet and passive she sounds, I'd like a little more energy from her. Veri is splendid and Nakky adorable! After a few listens of this, allowing myself to focus more on each girl, Miyazu also caught my attention a lot too; she did a really good job! But overall everyone is fantastic, I love the group parts in the chorus!!
Sexy Boy ~ Soyokaze ni Yorisotte ~ by Tokyo Musume / I love this song. I never used to pay much attention to a lot Momusu songs until I started listening to dubs. Now I really like a lot of them, or they've at least grown on me some. This song is so fun and cute! I love love all of the trios, duets and other smaller group parts in this!! There aren't tons of solos, and many of them are on the short side.
The "chimata de uwasa no SEXY ue ue" (and similar parts) are SO adorable. It's hard for me to pick one section of the song I like the most; the verses, pre-chorus and chorus are all spectacular!! I also like all of the "Fall in love"s in this, they're pretty. The blending is excellent, on top of lots of other things in this! The overall energy is great and all of the lovely ladies singing to us are delightful & darling! I really like this! It's probably my favorite of these three dubs.
So basically, I died because of work. I would love to always put this blog first, but I was too busy and by the end of the day, too tired. I threw up the twitter thing to let y'all know I was still alive, and I plan to keep on using it. Right now it's just massive catch-up time.
Kioku no Meiro by KonichibaProject (Shuffles) / I like Miyazu's opening "Amai kuchidzuke Anata no nioi" a lot; her whole solo is fabulous. Eva follows (0:26) sounding very sweet+cute+great! 0:56 is Veri, she has a mature rich sound and delivers well. Her first line is superb, and I like her "Mayonaka no denwa no" ~ Lucy at 1:10, she's overpowered by the harmonies, I wasn't sure what I was hearing at first. You can hear her more after the first line, like her terrific "Denwa kiru to douji ni" ~ I love her vocals and her "Dakishimeta yoru" is awesome & quite Saki-like.
Since this is a concert-shortened version of this song, the pre-chorus is only sung one time; Miya (1:24), Eva (1:28), Ama (1:31ish). Sadly -also because of the shortening- you only get to hear Lucy once in this dub. Lalala instrumental break and then TADA, it's Amaya at 2:05ish. She's darling as ever, though a tiny bit more umph from her would be cool. I was waiting for the "sugita wa" - well, then again I've never heard this concert version, so perhaps Yuuka isn't as umphy as Reina is when she sings it, lol. idk. Regardless, Amaya is marvelous.
2:20 chorus time!! This cast is fantastic together! I think my favorite part of this dub is the group lines. There are a few solos mixed in; Veri at 2:27 is splendid. It's nice to hear her on the chorus as well as the verse. When people like Ai and Reina get most of the spotlight, you sometimes don't get to hear the rest of the girls on more than one part of the song (if at all). Eva's 2:41 solo is brilliant!! I love her.
And finishing the dub off is Miyazu at 2:55. All of her lines are excellent, and her last is no exception. Her ending "yasashii" is swell. I really like this! The pronunciation sounds good and the timing is on. The energy level is nice and the overall sound is wonderful. The blending on the group parts is delightful and the girls also have good emotion on those parts.
I would continue with the H's, but it has more projects than other letters, so I'm going to come back to it in a little bit. I was doing some stuff that had been shared with me yesterday, and it was kind of cool because I reached two in my inbox by Konichibi Project and the next letter that came up in my random generator was...K!
Hitorijime by Toki / This song doesn't exactly ring my bell. I find it kind of boring and unoriginal. So even if I like this dub, it's hard for me to write about it because of the song. It turns me off. But don't for a second overlook this! - especially if you like the song and/or v-u-den. These girls did a really nice job!! I like them on the chorus quite a bit, and they sound splendid together as well as individually.
Honto no Jibun by Harajuku / Konichiba's most recent release ~ I won't write fully on this one either, because even though I like the song, I've written about it so much. "Introducing our two newest EGGs, Hime and Alex!!" Welcome welcome!! I adore the group parts, the blending is sweet+lovely. The overall vocals have a softness to them that is charming but still a bit...soft, lol. Overall I really really like this!! Definitely a thumbs up and oodles of stars! SO worth a listen!!
Egao YES Nude by Tokyo Musume / Another song I don't like, lol. Lucy makes an awesome Yossi! She starts the dub off at 0:26 and sounds great! Though it's short, I really like Miyazu's"Nee dakishimete" at 0:35. She's followed by Eva, who is lovely as ever. Then both of them have the "demo ne" & "LOVELY"s with several other girls singing the echoes. This part turned out nice dub wise, even if I don't actually like it song wise.
Lucy's"MISUTERII" is fantastic, as well as the little 'woo' sound right after it and before the next line, by Lily; her "Mou furikaerarenai mitai" solo at 0:47ish is fabulous! 0:59 is Mari, and she's got nice energy and a lovely voice~ Elena follows, sounding sweet+cute and marvelous!
I will say that I adore the "Egao YES NUUDO"s. Probably the only part of the song I really like, and in this dub they're all by the same group; Lu/Ev/Ma/El. Epic win. They lead right into the chorus, which I find the melody kind of annoying, but the Tomusu (lol) girls sang it spot on. The melody deals with some funky notes, and they were nailed in this!
The duets are smashing! Sadly it's the same few people that make up the duets (Lu/Ev & Mi/Li), but that's an H!P scripting for you, which we all know can be fail. I love Rii's solo at 1:24, the 'nemuru' in her "egao de nemuru" is so pretty!! Moving on to the second verse, Eva sounds superb on her Miki solos, like at 1:34! I love her singing. The Lucy and Lily parts from 1:42 to 1:49 are terrific, as well as the next few solos from Miyazu (1:50, 1:54), Eva (1:52), Rii (1:58), and Mari (2:06).
After more chorus and the little instrumental break Elena has the first solo; I adore her "nagareboshi" ~ Following is Amaya and it's her only solo *shakes fist at song's original scripter* she fits Sayumi perfectly with her mega cute vocals. And 3:01 is Valen, not much to go on but I like her "no" ~ The rest of the song is all chorus, which does grow on you a little bit, but this song will never be a favorite of mine.
Madayade by Straeberrie (KonichibaProject) / Frick, Eva is awesome as Risako!! She suits the part so well and delivers her lines spot on. The group parts (Mo/Ai/Ev) that surround her solo in the beginning are fabulous! The pre-chorus follows and the solos aren't very long, so not oodles to go by. 0:32 is Nakki, and she sounds flipping wonderful. Following her is Aiko, who needs more energy, more umph!
And about 0:39ish is Veri, homigosh, I adore her as Maasa. She has such a low and lovely voice, and does a great job on her solo! Finishing off the section is Amaya ~ her username is so right; sweet! She has a really sweet+cute voice. I already knew this from previous listenings, but I still go AWW when I hear her.
I love love Moka's Momo line at 0:45! I don't like dubbers to be H!P clones or do vocal imitations; but it is cool when they suit their part, and Moka makes a wonderful Momo. Kawaii! 0:51 is Aiko again, she has two roles in this dub, but it's the same with both of them; more energy would be cool. Though from what I can tell, she has a lovely voice.
0:57 is first chorus, UWAH, I can't help it ~ I love the chorus of this song. It's so upbeat and fun and catchy. And these gals did a terrific job on it! Total win! My favorite part of the dub, hands down. The blending is splendid and ear pleasing, and there is energy! Some really nice notes, and I think I heard a bit of light vibrato; which we all know I love. I agree with Amaya, the "HAH"s turned out great - all of the little extra parts did.
No cast listed Jiriri Kiteru by Butterfly*Angel (TsubakiProject) /So, I have no idea who sings in this, cause there is nothing in the drop down section. At all. idk. So I'm just going by times and H!P girls as reference, since I don't know if this is casted or in order or whatever. Anyways! I really like the opening "onna no" (Risako), it's very short but good. The following "kan desu" (Yurina) is marvelous too. I freaking love the duet around 0:37!! Epic blending.
The 0:40 "kira kira" (Momo) is rushed / off time and sounds kind of...just said. Not sung, which is part of why I think it's too fast; cause the syllables weren't stretched out over the notes via singing. I think the next line is, er, not there? (0:42) It sounds like just a harmony part that may have come off the instrumental. And if it is one of the cast, they are way too quite.
0:47 (Momo) is wonderful! And the duet right after that, especially the "DAME da yo" at 0:56, is excellent! There is some staticness from mics or something during the chorus, but not the worst I've heard, just a bit. Two small groups go back and forth and they sound fairly well, though the blending isn't totally there. Miyabi's 1:06 solo sounds SO good, I love the end of it a lot; the "ne" and following little "wow" sound.
Next chorus, 1:37 ~ First is Chinami, and it's not really enough to go by. Ugh at more super short solos. Then it's Maasa (1:39) and ohmy, from what little I hear, I like! Yay Captian! 1:44 is Saki, and she sounds lovely. Yurina's solo is right after and fnjk fjkefn; it's mega good. I adore how whoever she is sounds on "teikou" ~ The 1:47 duet by Chinami and Miyabi is fantabulous!
Momo on the pre-chorus again at 1:50 and I really like it. Maybe this dub is casted, cause all her solos have sounded sort of like the same girl. Overall, bonus points for song choice. This one took a little bit to grow on me, but I do like it. And it's been a while since I've heard a dub of it; these girls did an all around nice job.
Ookina ai de Motenashite by Hoshizora (KonichibaProject) / This song is so catchy, and the H!P girls look SO adorable! All of the "ooki na ai de motenashite"s in this are pretty fabulous!! Though sometimes the 'te' doesn't sound right. It's 'mo te na shite' and in the first set of the dub, the second and last line sound more like 'mo ka na shite' - But!! For some reason, this is also how C-ute sounds in the original PV, which I don't get. So I give Konichiba props for accuracy in that sense, even though the lyrics tell me it should be otherwise.
Eva makes a wonderful Airi; her sweet voice really suits her and she did a good job taking on her part. She has the first solo, and hits all of the higher notes well, though at 0:27 her "koto yo" sounds funky. She adds a little spunk to it that's not exactly bad, but noticable. Following right after is Veri, who sounds marvelous as well; her high notes aren't strained, but I can't figure out the word to describe them. Anyhow, I like the first part of her solo at 0:28.
0:34 to 0:43 is all duets, going, in order; Am/Na, Na/St, Am/Ma. They all sound really good! This dub has nice overall blending. I love love the "OH YEAH OH YEAH" at 0:45!! Then it's more Airi lines, ugh. Don't get me wrong, Eva is awesome. But this is another of C-ute's songs where only a few people actually get solos. Usually it's just Maimi and Airi, but Megumi was still around for this one, so she has solos too, though already she is being pushed back by the other two.
I really like how Eva sings very clearly, her parts always sound very crisp and clean. Veri's 0:58 line is kind of shakey; her notes aren't very strong / steady. I am loving Ayaka on Megumi's part!!! - her first solo is at 1:10. Her voice is a bit more mature, but she sounds lovely. I think it's her tone or line delivery or something that makes me like her on Megumi's parts, idk. It's been a little while since I've heard her, so I'm glad that I got to hear her in this. Her 1:34 solo is also fantastic!!
I don't really want to carry on about the same three girls, so I won't. All of their solos (Eva, Veri & Ayaka) are very well done and were most certainly pleasant to listen to. The same duet-pairings occur at 1:40 (Am/Na, Na/St, Am/Ma), and I give all of these girls props; even if they didn't get solos, they sound darling on everything they did sing. I mentioned them before, but the epic "OH YEAH OH YEAH"s in this dub rock, and they are all by those four girls. One of my fave parts overall.
I don't think there is anything about this dub that I actually dislike. I think this group of gals did a fairly fabulous job on this cute song. The blending and energy are snazzy and I like the "FU"s too. I look foward to more from them!
Cinderella Complex by KP Shuffles (Konichiba Project) / Review by Michi (hitsugayahinamori) / May I say that I have a new favorite project now??? This shuffles group just OWNED THIS SONG. I love the beginning. The "nananana"s blend so well and the rapping has SO MUCH ENERGY! It's so rare to find a dub of this that actually has both! And not to mention the mixing for the beginning was GREAT! Whenever I listen to a dub I look for one thing in mixing: volume and timing. Guess what? This one had both.
We start the song off with the Ai solo + the Maimi harmony. Oh wait, sorry, it seems there was a misunderstanding. We start the song off with MIYAZU's solo with VERI's harmonies. They both did great here. However, I wish the Maimi harmony by Veri was a bit quieter. Miyazu did great singing as Ai. I'm in love with her voice now! Now here comes the Lucy-Eva duo (0:43)! They did as well as the first two but once more, Lucy's harmonies should be a tad bit softer/quieter.
Eva sounds so cute in her following solo at 0:47! And now the solo spinning thing (0:54)! First up; Veri sings her solo very well. I can't help but think it's one pitch up, but who cares. It was great. Following her, we hear Yuuka...Er...AMAYA, for the first time, solo-wise. She is ADORABLE. Tsunku, kick out Yuuka and take Amaya in. I swear. Amaya sounds so adorable. Too bad there aren't many solos available in this song for her.
Next is LUCY! She makes SUCH a great Saki! I'm very impressed once more by her voice! Miyazu's solo at 1:00 is epic! I have nothing else to say but that. It's epic. Period. Now the first chorus of the song (1:06)! With the male harmonies in there, the chorus sounds a bit fuller but I can't help to think that it was a bit off timed mixing wise. The blending is epic once more!
Then we have Eva's solo at 1:10! She's very cute and yet is able to maintain her pitching and emotion~ Great job Eva! 1:12's 'Cinderella Complex' line could've been a bit faster mixing wise. Miyazu solos at 1:19 and she owns it once more! I love how she doesn't scream her solo, yet its still full of emotion and energy!
"Nananana"s and "YES YES YO"s prevail once more. Ah...Music to my ears...Oh wait, this IS music. Excuse me. Blending and energy and emotion. PERFECT. Other than pitching, those three are my 3 musts for a dub. And they took care of it VERY WELL in this dub. Eva+Lucy duet again at 1:53. It sounds great, but I wish Lucy was timed a bit closer to Eva's solo. It's ok though, it's still great. Eva has great emotion, but she could've stayed a bit on pitch more. The way she sings it actually fits either way though ^^
Veri+Miyazu once more (1:57). AND BETTER THAN EVER! It's even greater than the beginning! I love these two very much. Next is Miyazu's Ai solo; SHE VIBRATO-ED. I love her even MORE so now. Solo wheel time again; Veri starts it off once more! The pronounciation could've been a bit sharper but vocal wise it was good.
AMAYA. My dear DEAR Amaya. Why do she only have 2 solos in here again? Because she's so epic cute sounding. Her 2 solos are adorably great; pitching, energy, emotion wise. IN ALL POSSIBLE WAYS. Tsunku. Give this girl a plane ticket to Japan, I swear.
Lucy owns the Saki solo (2:12). I can't help thinking she makes a great Saki! Eva owns Reina's solo once more at 2:14! And what more? Without breaking a sweat! Usually Reina dubbers for this song SCREAM their solo to reach those notes, but not Eva! Ah~ The return of the epic blend chorus (2:21)! I love how they don't scream ANY of their notes in here, yet manage to reach them with energy~
GAH. MIYAZU-CHAN I LOVE YOU. She vibrato-ed her solo again. Even the mixing and timing here owns! Eva at 2:33; she did great but it seems she had a hard time reaching the low end note. Practice makes perfect though! Then the instrumental break enters like any other song.
FINALE! Best chorus yet to come at 2:57. Eva sounds like Reina in the solo, but I think she went a bit flat in the end note. And then Miyazu-Chan, with another epic solo (3:10)! Chorus, I love you. On the next solo starting with "Riisou" (Miyazu, 3:18), I think the timing was a bit missed. Chorus owning again. Eva's 3:27 solo - the timing is like a LITTLE BIT OFF. But I can't help but think this was her best solo! As they say! Save the BEST for LAST! The "nanana"s and rapping prevails one last time before the song finishes!
Overall, I loved this groupdub to BITS! I can't wait for more for by these guys! I just wish I can hear a bit more of Lucy, Veri, and Amaya. Too bad the (H!P) idiots don't know what fair line share means. But then again, I blame the fans and money.
Shouganai Yume Oibito by Tokyo Musume (KonichibaProject) / Hey y'all, it's Hikki here again! Well, today I am reviewing Konichiba Project's Shouganai Yume Oibito! So hopefully I can get through this without pulling my hair out. Don't get me wrong, I love this song. But it's my internet, it keeps cutting off every 5 minutes. Actually, I wish it were every 5 minutes, it's cutting off every 30 seconds. If I have to reload this video more than 5 times....I'm gonna ram a parking cone up someone's - - (Aya: LOL, er, I mean. . .oh my. Lame internetz *kicks*) So! This is my first time listening to a Konichiba Project release, and I'm exciteeed! Here's the cast:
Ai Takahashi - Lily [ the realallisons ] Risa Niigaki - Miyazu [ MiyazuChan ] Eri Kamei - Stella [ StellaUta ] Reina Tanaka - Eva [ airisuzuki24 ] Sayumi Michishige - Valen [cutiesnsd ] Koharu Kusumi - Amaya [ xsweetgurl ] Aika Mitsui - Elena [ XxHanaAsunaxX ] JunJun - Lucy [ CherryxJuice ] LinLin - Mari [ SailorSednaPGSM ]
So, this isn't going to be a long entry, and I'll probably just talk about the 5 main singers, because I don't feel particularly talkative today. Kinda icky actually, I just spent 5 hours cleaning tile grout and watching 'Glee'. YAY. Okay, enough about me, let's get started!
First solo is by Lily, I haven't really heard her sing before, maybe once or twice, but she has a really nice tone to her voice. She adds a little 'umph' to her lines, but I wish she would have elongated the "itsu na nooooooo", but that's 'cause I'm a cow that likes listening to stretched out notes. Hah. Then we have Miyazu singing as Risa. And I have never heard her voice before, but she sounds really great! There's so much strength and power! I think she pulled off Risa's solo really well.
Then Stella with Eri's short solo, I've said this before about others, but I remember hearing Stella a while ago, and she has really improved too! Or maybe I was thinking about someone else? I'm not sure, but she sounds great. And then we have Valen as Sayumi, and she sounds so so cute! She really has that Sayumi tone down. (This is a compliment, just to clarify.) Oh, and Mari and Lucy's voices blend so well; their voices really match JunJun and LinLin's tone.
Then it's the chorus! Blending wise I think it sounds pretty good. But there's something in there that makes it a tad bit sloppy. I can't put my finger on it, but the chorus could be a bit tighter and sharper. But the mixing is still pretty good! I'm in no position to judge because I can't mix anything to save my life. Everyone blends really well together though. Anyway, now we have Lily's second solo, I can really hear that her added style to her lines. It's not bad or anything, it gives her solos more personality.
Then it's Eva! I've heard her voice before and I still find it incredible. I think Eva's voice is easily distinguishable with her microphone. It's not BAD, but it has that effect on her voice, that makes it stand out. Like, I could hear her quite well during some of the duet lines and even the chorus. Nonetheless, she still has a great tone, and her pitching is spot on. The timing for this solo was a bit off at one part, but that's just me picking again.
Okay, side note. PV, IF RISA HAS A SOLO. DON'T SHOW ERI'S FACE DURING HER LINES, IT CONFUSES ME. Back on topic, back on topic! Now, we have more strength from Miyazu! A voice that I definitely need to listen more too! Stella and Mari's voice blend EPICALLY in the next duet line at 2:25, just letting y'all know. Then there's more awesome solos. I'm not gonna talk more about it, because it's gonna be a repetition of what I have said above.
Whoo, another chorus with epic voice blendage. Miyazu's solo at 3:15 was amazing! I LOVED LOVED LOOOOVED that vibrato she had in there (at "futari shite"). And then more awesome singing! (Ahaa, vague). Lily's long solo was sung really well, no pitching problems I could hear. And I love the last part at 4:41 ("Sore nano ni anata ga suki"), the blending and mixing was great, and Lily's harmony was wonderful as well!
Overall, great job to everyone! I know I only focused on the 5 solo singers, but everyone else did a good job in the duet lines, and no one stood out, so you guys did awesome too! Which is something more dubbers should care about, because I know there are people who are like: "Oh, I have no solos in this, so I can just send in crap lines." which is totally not the attitude a dubber should have, but I admit, I've done this before, hee hee ^ ^;;; Anyway, a great release by Konichiba! I'll definitely look out for more of your singles!
HUGE thanks to Hikki ;w; Iloveher~ Cause I was (er, am) in a crappy mood and getting this review from her made me happy. It sucks that her internet was so mean, but super sweet of her to keep on trying so that she could review this dub!
*What put me in a crappy mood* KHRKL JM;LMY;LHKLD KLHERKLHMRTK !! Why does this happen to me? ;w; I had typed up a review on Kakyokuu Project's C/C and I decided not to put finishing touches on it tonight, since it's already pretty late. And I just put it in a wordpad, titled it when I went to save it, but I hit some key in the process too quickly, and closed it. Then I got the dreading feeling that I'd screwed something up.
So I opened it again real quick, and I freaking somehow deleted more than HALF OF IT. Now I'm pissed. And sadly, when I do something like this I lose the inspiration to go back and finish it later. Cause it bothers me that I can't remember what I wrote before. So, sorrry Kakyokuu. If I try, it'll just be lame. I'll see if one of the other girls will review it for y'all. I can tack on the paragraph that I do have to the end of it. [/rant]
Ai Takahashi - Lily [ the realallisons ] Risa Niigaki - Miyazu [ MiyazuChan ] Eri Kamei - Stella [ StellaUta ] Reina Tanaka - Eva [ airisuzuki24 ] Sayumi Michishige - Valen [cutiesnsd ] Koharu Kusumi - Amaya [ xsweetgurl ] Aika Mitsui - Elena [ XxHanaAsunaxX ] JunJun - Lucy [ CherryxJuice ] LinLin - Mari [ SailorSednaPGSM ]
Shouganai Yume Oibito by Tokyo Musume (KonichibaProject) / I agree with much of what leader Amaya said in the drop-down section -the blending is very nice, and there are some off notes throughout the song, but nothing too bad. I can't say this is a favorite dub of mine; partially the song choice but also it just didn't wow me. I know all of these girls worked hard on this release and I definitely give them props for it.
I am mixing-dumb, but it sounds a little odd. I went from listening to another dub, to this one and I had to turn my computer's volume down. And if it's too loud the bass sounds fuzzy-ish. But don't take these things to heart, cause Aya is in no way a mixing-master LOL. Anyways, I too like Lily's soft and lovely solos, Miyazu's mature voice and awesome singing (adore the vibrato), and Eva's clear and pretty lines.
Stella sounds darling, Valen's a little quite but she's sweet. Lucy and Mari get no solos, but they take part in the duets, including one together 1:08. They sound fabulous! The same goes for Elena and Amaya, who duet at 2:46. All of the "Shouganai Yume Oibito"s in this are super! There are a lot of great parts, and overall the dub is a nice listen. OH & "This is Miyazu (MiyazuChan)'s first official release with a main group, so let's welcome Miyazu-san!"
Honto no Jibun by Kakyokuu Project / This is such a popular song lately. And since I've written about it at least twice semi-recently, I'm not going to do into detail. As I've said when previously talking about this song, there aren't a whole ton of solos; the girls each end up having 3-4, and none of them are very long.
I adored Airi's"ganbare" - she has such an awesome mature voice, it's lovely. Reina's"wakura" wasn't exactly Momo-like, she put her own cute spin on it - she's kawaii. Eri is a little pitchy now and then, but for every off note she has there is a great one to counter it. And! she contributes to the group parts, which sound fan-freaking-tastic! This is a darn good release, only Kakyokuu's second!
Another random poll, inspired by the previous one! Two more songs that I have heard/seen a lot of dubs of lately. I downloaded Amai (IroKokoro)'s version of aMa no Jaku a while ago, and since then I've seen at least another 2-3 releases by different projects. And I downloaded Cookie Koubou (cremeproject)'s version of Rival when it came out, and have seen several more dubs of it since.
So once again; take your pick! Which song would you rather dub, not only based on personal tastes but on other things ~ How challenging/simple the song is, the difficulty level when it comes to mixing. Key, tempo, etc. A little influence of your own preference isn't too bad either.
Mikan by Ai [aikoaki / reinaloverai] ~ Killer energy!! Ai totally rocked this song! I adore how into it she sounded, it made it really fun to listen to her. She sounds fantastic with herself and also on her actual solos. The beginning part was awesome, the verses were fabulous, and I loved the chorus. Total pwn.
Ayaka Wada = Rach (rozentorndoll) Yuuka Maeda = Mai (dblingchiu) Kanon Fukuda = Hina (xoXCookiesnMilkXox) Saki Ogawa = Miya (TokyoStarx)
aMa no Jaku by Harajuku (KonichibaProject) / The volumes are off, but leader Amaya knows this. It didn't really make anything horribly staticy, just loud & a little staticy. And it's most noticable on the chorus. If you pay it no mind, this dub is easily enjoyable. The chorus is nice and the blending overall is lovely.
It's been a while since I heard Hina's freaking kawaii voice! Only thing about her lines is that she's a little on the quiet side. Mai sounds really cute, but she could use a little more umph! Props to Miya for being a cover!! Rach has such a borderline adorable/mature-ish voice, idk how to describe it. I really liked her solos. All of the girls sound marvelous!
Issai Gassai Anata ni A.ge.ru by Rasubelly / My first thought was that the instrumental could be louder, and other people voiced this as well in comments. But! I thinking about it; this is Belly's audition for Kiseki Project and as far as I know she's applying as a singer/dubber not for mixing -
So it's perfectly okay that she is louder than the music, since that is what you want for auditions; to be able to hear the person singing. I don't know if it was intended or not, but Belly has given Miyako a good example of how well she can sing. I don't care for this song, but Belly sounds great! This was shared with me via StrawberryzProject (Moka-chan).
Do It! Now by MilkyStar / I didn't love this at first. I mean it's good, and as I listened to it more and more it grew on me. It's mostly the song I didn't like to start with, but it's not so bad. As for the dub; there are a lot of good lines, lovely voices, and a nice energy level. The beginning was really good. Congrats on the debut, 6th Gen.
Valentine sounded great at 0:38, I really like her matureness. 0:53 is Miya - she has such an adorable voice! Maybe a litte on the quiet side sometimes. Spicy did fabulously on her Gomaki solo at 0:58! Another pretty-mature voice. There are quite a few of them in this dub, like Celia at 1:31. I'm loving it. She had great energy too.
I get a little confused as to who is rapping which parts, but I liked all of them! I think Hinaki was 2:11 and 2:22 was Nai-chan. Also, I think 2:17 was Aura, but idk for super sure. 2:29 is Rika, who sounds great on her Mari solo. I didn't even notice the change of dubbers at 2:39, if there was one. It lists Anna as Kaori though, idk. And lastly is Maya at 3:02. She really suited Risa, I liked the umph she delivered her line with.
Asu wa Deeto by CosmosProject / A little bit of pitchiness throughout, and this could have used a smidgen more energy at times; but the girls all sounded cute. Reika sounds adorable, and I liked her emotion. Ayaka has a nice mature voice and she sounded good on her Kanon solos.
Yuusaku did well, her pitching could use some work though. & Her "nee"s were a little weak. But she sounds nice on held notes. Martha had pretty good energy and sounded lovely. Overall, not anything I can really point out, except just maybe more umph! A cute release.
Reina Tanaka - Eva (airisuzuki24) Miyabi Natsuyaki - Amaya (xsweetgurl) Airi Suzuki - Hana (KatieWoW123)
Lol, I've listened to this song too much lately. Hana makes a cute Airi and did a pretty good job on the high notes. Sometimes a little quiet though. Eva rocked her lines, I love love her clear beautiful voice. And Amaya sounds as wonderful as ever! I always felt bad that Miyabi didn't get more lines. I really liked this, and since I've heard quite a few dubs of this song recently, I can knowingly say that this is good.
Eva (airisuzuki24) Moka (animeobsessed40) Stella (StellaUta) Miyazu (MiyazuChan) Mai (dblingchiu) Nakky (ILA1080) Amaya (xsweetgurl)
I've listened to this at least six times or more now, and it's really good. A tiny bit of pitchiness, and some people could have been louder, but I really liked many of the solos and the group parts were fabulous! & All of the little random speaking parts in this song turned out really well too. I already covered this song, so nothing in depth from me at the moment. But this is a great release from K!P.
Sleepy. Work was long again. Lameness. I couldn't get Iroppoi Jirettai by HoshiDubs out of my head today. Along with IroKororo Project's dub of Gag 100 Kaibun Aishitekudasai for some random reason, lol. Plus a couple of other dubs, but I'm too tired to think about which ones.
I am sorely overdue on an update for Konichiba Project, so here we go~
Eva (airisuzuki24) Nakky (ILA1080) Ayaka (JapanGaruuz) Mari (SailorSednaPGSM) Stella (StellaUta) Amaya (xsweetgurl)
This is Ayaka's last single as a part of Hoshizora~
Namida no Iro / Shoot, I don't know for sure if it's in order of hearance ;w; This is pretty good! I really liked so many parts in this, even though the pitching needs work for some people. Overall, the blending was splendid. The energy level is awesome! Whoever had the opening solo has a fabulous voice!!
The group parts turned out great on the little melody right before the chorus! I'll confuse myself if I try to figure out who's singing when on the solos, lol. So I won't try. But many of the lines were very good. A couple of iffy notes and off-key spots, but a lovely dub all the same. Ohh! I adored 3:19. I love how everyone sounds together there.
Stella (StellaUta) Valen (cutiesnsd) Eva (airisuzuki24) Elena (XxHanaAsunaxX) Lily (therealallisons) Mari (SailorSednaPGSM) Amaya (xsweetgurl) Rae (SingingOnDemand) Lucy (CherryxJuice)
This is Rae's last single with Tokyo Musume~
Kanashimi Twilight / The echo is a little much, distracts some from the following line. But it's not horrible, lol. This isn't a fave, but it's still good. Part of it for me is the song, it doesn't do anything for me. As for the dub itself, I've heard better from Konichiba, but did enjoy listening. You can't only like something at it's best.
Abe Natsumi - Veri (Veridian92) Goto Maki - Miyazu (MiyazuChan) Ishikawa Rika - Amaya (xsweetgurl) Matsuura Aya - Mari (SailorSednaPGSM)
Suki Sugite Baka Mitai / ngvkngkwe. I will always love this song. And I think it does go in order of hearance. On the other dubs I just got confused though, idk why. Maybe this one is easier for me to follow since there are only the four girls, each with easy to pick out voices.
I've heard Miyazu before, and I like her mature voice and energy. Veri I am new to (I believe) and will have to peek at her profile Another mature and lovely voice. Amaya I adore, with her sweet voice and wonderful singing. Mari I'm familiar with, she has a cute voice.
Veri should sing with more confidence! And Miyazu is sometimes pitchy, but I love her vibrato. Amaya is adorable, but I'd like to hear more umph! to her solos. Same with Mari. All the same, this was a lovely dub. Props for song choice, lol.
Because of my late work day and YT's site maintenance yesterday, I feel crazy behind. I just had dinner and I am so freaking full. I'm jammin' out to BE HAPPY again, lol. I love this dub. LOL, I'madork. I have too much fun with MS paint. Today's mental playlist. These awesome dubs were in my head all day. If MP3 players weren't against rules at work, I'd pack mine with dubs and take it along. Yumi and Yuri's AKB dub came out of nowhere, but I adore it. Egao by A!K Pro is understandable, since I listened to it a lot last night. And Hinagiku's dub is probably my current super fave.
A while back I asked Amaya of KonichibaProject some questions and she got back to me today! So mini interview time!!
AYA: *When did your project first start?*
AMAYA: "I first started this project late January-ish last year. . . .However I closed it down a little while after because I felt that keeping a project was too complicated. BUT THEN! I opened it back up again for a second shot."
AYA: *Where did the idea come from?* Just a random thought? A friend's idea? A funny conversation?
AMAYA: "I have no idea! Haha. Well, I guess listening to Hello Project songs and seeing cute little projects up all around Youtube really inspired me and I wanted to try."
AYA: *Who are/is the leader(s) and/or sub-leader?*
AMAYA: "I'm the leader and the sub-leader is Mari (SailorSednaPGSM). I've just recently chosen her as sub because she's a really reliable member and PLUS, she has the most amazing, pretty voice."
AYA: *What would you say is the goal of your project;* Are you set on making progress as a group, or is your main goal to just have fun? Somewhere inbetween?
AMAYA: "I've never considered that before but I think we have many goals! I want to make progress as a group and be successful but also, I think that mainly, it is to have fun and interact with new people!"
AYA: Any questions for me?
AMAYA: "Where did you get your idea for blogging (about) Asian music dubs? . . . .I don't think I've ever seen a review blog like yours before!"
AYA: Well, Rae (SingingOnDemand) planted the seed in my mind, and I just went from there. I had started a Hello!Project blog (H!PE) & AKB blog and she told me that I should make one on dubbing. All it took was a couple clicks of a button, thinking up a name and going at it. I'm super glad I did!
Gosh I need to think up new questions, lol~
Also! Konichiba just opened auditions for their groups Hoshizora (C-ute) and Harajuku (Eggs). They're looking for 1-2 new members, which will join the project as the 3rd generation. All the information you need is in the video and/or in the drop-down info section. There is currently no closing date listed, but it's noted that "Auditions close soon!!"
Bravo☆Chan by Manami1992 / Oh my. I've listened to a mash up before, it was Kappa's Honto ni Happy ~Shiawase no Jibun!~ It's such a fun idea!! I think Manami picked great songs to mix, since Suki-Chan seems to fit Bravo Bravo really well. And she pulled off this mash up wonderfully! I adore her voice, and did great on the harmonies.
Mr Moonlight Ai no Big Band by ChiiAyu / ! ! ! I could not stop laughing. I mean, the actual video by Momusu makes me giggle, but this recording is so much better. Cause it's a bunch of dubbers being crazy and dancing to this bubbly song. I loved the effects too, like the gold sparkles. I think it's awesome that so many people support Chii ♥
She does all of the singing in this! I didn't notice that right away, cause she did all the harmonies and made the different parts so believable. She sounds freaking amazing. Like the high part in the beginning (0:11)! Holy crap, she hit those notes spot on. And all of her girl-singing-guy-like parts, as Gomaki and Natsumi & such were sooo good.
Ohh~ I haven't listened to anything by Konichiba Project in a little while, and they just released a dub yesterday. Don't underestimate the eggs! There are two subgroups listed under Eggs; Toki and Harajuku. In the info section for this dub, it says that it's by Group A. Which is. . . .Toki? idk for sure. Anyways~
Our Songs / This is cute! I think all three of these gals did a super job. As leader Maya mentioned, I think the energy is pretty good. Rii has a borderline cute/pretty voice, she can sound either way or both at the same time. Mayazu has a lovely mature voice, and her little bits of vibrato throughout the song are nice. And Amaya sounds adorable. All three did great on their parts!

KonichibaProject "We're just a big group of girls singing songs and having a good time~"
Lead by Amaya, Konichiba has been partaking in the dubbing community since January 27th, 2009. They have released over 20 dubs, from among their 3 groups; Tokyo Musume, Straeberrie, and Suki Love. They also have a shuffle unit (Chiba SHUFFLES) that covers "Misc Hello Project subgroups and other non H!P songs."
KP has gone through 5 member graduations, and currently has two generations and no eggs. Suki Love is the groups C-ute dubbing unit. So far, they have released four dubs, their latest being Soku Dakishimete. Their cast is;
[*] This is a really good dub! I do agree with leader comments that energy and pitch need a little work in some cases. But, the blending is good and the group parts were fabulous; loved the chorus! Overall, I really enjoyed this!
[*] C-ute's lame uneven line division sucks (;w;) Only Maimi, Airi and Megumi get actual solos. So I am limited on hearing solos from everyone, but as I have said before; the whole group plays a part in the song, and it wouldn't be the same without even one of them. So enjoy the chorus, cause it's all of the wonderful cast singing together!!
[*] JapanGaruuz and StellaUta both did fabulously on their semi-lead parts as Airi and Maimi! I liked Stella at 1:14 on "nando mo kikareru watashi". And I liked JapanGaruuz at 2:32 on her "aa sugoi yo."
[*] There were different duet pairs, most of them stayed the same, but a few interchanged (or so projecthello.com tells me). All of them sounded great! With the exception of a few, where one of the two girls was harder to hear. A soft cute voice, but almost too soft. Could have used more umph! Everyone's voice went well with each other's, which I bet is cool in a dubbing group. Yay for blending!
[*] I must say that airisuzuki24 as Megumi was my favorite. She did an awesome job at leading this single! Great energy that stays throughout the song; clear well delivered solos; and a very lovely voice. I strongly suggest checking out her YouTube page, and looking into other dubbing groups she is in (I know I am going to).
[*] LOL, at first I didn't realize that some girls were dubbing more than one person. All of the six girls that covered this song did a spectacular job! Props, props~ Go check out their Youtube !!
Blabbing about dubs. Hello and welcome to my blog! I'm just an Asian music lover who enjoys taking part in the dubbing communities on YouTube. Here I am going to be tossing out my opinions just for fun, and hopefully meeting more awesome people along the way!
