LA LA LA

It's kind of hard to wrap my head around how much I've missed out on. I've been wracking my brain for some kind of system to help me catch up and I've decided to go back to the random number generator I was doing. I'll get a number and thus a letter, pick a project that starts with it and then! I'm going to write about one of their recent dubs and do a mini re-cap on the project's other dubs. lol, well this is my plan, we'll see. People who've sent me requests, please be patient. Ily'all~

The first thing that will always come to mind when I think of this project is Naichau Kamo. It was the first release I heard from SD and remains one of my favorite dubs of that song. Actually, now that I look back, it was the project's debut! Since then they've released five more dubs, two of them very recently.

I again point y'all in the direction of their forums, if y'all are interested in checking them out. One of the good things about them is that, even though SD doesn't list cclyrics in the drop-down section of their dubs (which is somewhat bothersome), you can find them simply by finding the correct thread in their forums. On to the dubs! The unit Bokura no Kaze just released their second single. In both songs, Dee covers for Angeru. Also, Kaye covers for Rixie, on top of singing her own lines.

*CClyrics - keep the covers in mind!

Chisako (JapanGirlHellopro)
Mashiro (iwearatshirttoday)
Mirai (helloprojectlovers)
Kaye (KayeChansu)
Dee-Chan (cinnabun101)

Tomodachi wa Tomodachi Nanda / A-side (July 16th) / The volumes are a little iffy sometimes; Kaye sounds a bit quite overall, and the group parts tends to be louder than the rest of the dub. But overlooking volumes, this is pretty good. As I mentioned the other day, I've tried singing the verses in this and they can be tricky. Heck, just listening to the song tells you that. So even though some of the faster lines in this are off-time or a bit unclear, I give the girls props for giving this song a go.

I'm going to skip around a little bit ~ The cast isn't always together on the chorus, it's sort of varies from line to line. I really like the first "Tomodachi wa..." (1:06), but on the next group part (1:15) one girl is louder than the rest. I like Kaye's 1:10 solo, she has nice timing and sounds lovely. 1:19ish is Dee, who delivers fabulously and is real cute. The following duet is hard to hear, kind of quiet and mumbly. 1:28 is Chisako, geesh I like her singing, she's got a great sound. Very cute+lovely. I adore her light vibrato on "kono" and her whole solo is fab.

Mashiro (1:42) has a beautiful voice and Mirai (1:51) is so kawaii! Their solos in the second verse are rushed, but I adore them both all the same. The following chorus is marvelous. Though I think it's Chisako that I'm hearing the most on the group parts, which isn't bad, but if the volumes were more equal then the blending would be even better. Timing, volumes and energy could use a bit of work. The pronunciation and clairty are iffy as well, but I think that's partially due to the pace of song. Overall, these gals still did a nice job.

La La La Shiawase no Uta / B-side (July 16th) / This song and dub just oozes cuteness. All the "LA LA LA"s and such. But everything I said about the previous dub is the same for this one. The timing isn't always spot on, the volumes (especially Kaye's quietness) are iffy, and the girls aren't super together on group parts in the chorus. Mirai is actually kind of quiet in this as well, but I think it might be more her vocal volume, whereas with Kaye it could be her mic or how her part was mixed.

But when it comes to BOTH dubs; mixing is a learning process, and SD's leader said that she doesn't have a lot of experience. However, I think that volumes is the mixing, while timing and energy are individual. Well timing can be viewed more than one way; timing as in the mixer lining up music and vocals & the singers singing on beat (in time). Anyways!! This single turned out pretty nice overall. Practice brings progress!

And last but not least, just for kicks, here's Naichau Kamo;

Misc Auds

Hello! Project Daisuki Club (HPdaisukiclub) opened auditions the beginning of this week. The leader is Ami (username?) and this will be her first project ~ "since it's summer time now, I decided to start an h!p fandubbing club for fun....I'm excited about working with all of you..."

There are four groups you can apply for when auditioning; Melody Musume, Ai Koubou, L-ove, and Sakura/ge. "This Club will have no forums or website, the lyrics will mainly be color-coded, no one is assigned as only one person, and is designed to be fun." The deadline is currently set for the end of June. Don't miss out!

"New Group is Open, To join just follow the instructions in the video! You all have a chance so don't worry!" Very little information is provided in the drop-down section. But the text used in the video is fairly good sized; simple and to the point.

SakuranboDubs is still a pretty fresh project. Since their debut in mid-May they've released three other dubs, though (for me) none compare to their first; Naichuu Kamo. I'm looking forward to hearing more from this project, including their new group's debut. If you're interested, don't hesitate to audition.

Misc Project Recent Releases~

Akiyama Yurika: Catanaition
Hashimoto Aina: Corsica
Morozuka Kanami: Catanaition/Writerserenyty
Okada Robin Shouko: Writerserenyty
Oose Kaede: Boo
Goto Yuki: Boo/Corsica

Shiawase no Katachi by J-unior SWEET (Totally Up! Project) / "The 1st track in J-unior SWEET's 5th single, Form and Happiness. This track features J-unior SWEET gen 9 members. . . .Corsica is a special guest on this single as she is a gen 6 member of J-unior SWEET."

This song is alright, but it doesn't exactly float my boat. And I don't know any of THE Possible girls by name, so I'm lost as to who is singing when. The verses are nice, though they seem like they are semi-tricky; like they'd be easy to sing off-time on - you kind of hear that as well, where some people got close. But they turned out pretty well in this dub! I think I like the chorus the most; it's catchy, has cute/sweet vibes and I like how everyone sounds on it. Overall, the energy level is good; the girls did a marvelous job. Delightful~

Saki Shimizu - Awai [madleybloomingstar]
Momoko Tsugunaga - Okie [DivaDragger]
Chinami Tokunaga - Kazzy [Vendready]
Maasa Sudou - Aiko [ReinaLoverai]
Miyabi Natsuyaki - Choco [chocolateblakberri]
Yurina Kumai - Ami [amiswami2]
Risako Sugaya - Ayu [ChiiAyu]

Tomodachi wa Tomodachi Nanda by Cookie Koubou (cremeproject) / I got distracted by the PV for a little bit, lol. I forgot what a sweet vid this song has. Then my computer went dumb on me and I had to restart. And I'm hungry. But anyways!! Uwah, such a wonderful cast! I know everyone except Kazzy, I think. Ayuchan makes such a great Rii!! It's a bit funny to hear Choco as Miyabi when I'm used to her as Momo, but either way, she is a fantastic and adorable singer. Both her and Ayu pwned their lines in this.

Okie!! Cuteness defined! All of her solos sound very sweet & good. Ohemgee, I love Aiko as Maasa! And following her is Awai as Saki, more omgIloveit! Both of them delivered fabulously! Kazzy is cute, too bad her and the other two only get one line in this song. 3:08 is really good, all of the verses are great and I adore the chorus!! Everyone sounds good together. I haven't listened to a dub of this song in a while, actually. And this is one marvelous dub!

Hiduke [ fantasykingdom2177 ]
Ichijiku [ crazyselphie ]
Sakuranbo [ harpiegirlsuzuka ]
Kyuuri [ reinaloverai ]

Suki Sugite Baka Mitai by (ShizenProjectDubs) / Generation 2's debut! their premier single is titled, Everyday In Perfect Form, and this is it's B-side. The A-side has yet to be released, but is in the works. ~ This is one of my favorite songs, and I think it requires a lot of energy. These girls did a good job, but I didn't get the umph! from this that I was hoping for. Yes, not every line is supposed to burst with energy, but this song does call for a certain amount of, if not energy, emotion. I am looking foward to their A-side, EVERDAY Zekkouchou - it's a good song.

Rii (AzNxRawRx)
Chisako (JapanGirlHellopro)
Mashiro (iwearatshirttoday)
Rixie (RixieMixiePixieDixie)

Sakura Kiss by SakuraRanbo (SakuranboDubs) / As noted by a few members of the dub, the mixing could be better. Even though everyone wasn't together, they all still sound good. The ones whose recorded lines kind of fell together had great blending. I really like the chorus, even with the jumbledness. The beginning and ending parts, "Kiss kiss, fall in love" & etc - I like those. I'd like to hear this with better mixing, I think it would be fabulous~

Ai [lovelybeige]
Hanna [HannaPulla]
Ceci [CeciiIceChii]

In the drop-down section it's listed as 'solos in appearance' which leads me to believe it's in order of solos - that the three girls will cycle through repeatedly until the song ends. But I kept getting confused and my ears were like; AH! So I finally found my way to their forums and luckily they had CClyrics up. But, things do not go in order of solos. I find it very frustrating when I'm looking at it in a 'order of solos' mind frame, when it isn't actually like that. Not just for when I'm writing, but also simply as a listener.

Edo no Temrai uta II by SweetxHeart♥ (ShiningStarCovers) / I really like this song, it's quite short, but super catchy. And I have fun lol-ing at Airi & Kanna's hats. I think Nakki looks adorable. Anyways! Ai starts the dub off awesomely, she has a mature and lovely voice. Following her is Hanna (and again at 0:42), she certainly has a lot of energy, which is a good thing. Her solos were sometimes a bit funny because of her amount of umph! but not in a bad way; she made me smile. All of the girls have good energy!

I love the chorus to pieces! Even if a dub isn't perfect, if it's got you laughing / smiling / feeling good / whatev, then the dubbers sure did something good and are worth a listen. This trio gives off such fabulous vibes as they sing this! I also like how they sound together. I love Ceci's solo after the first chorus, her "hey hey" at 1:10 is adorable!! And the rest of her solo here is wonderful. Following her is Hanna at 1:17, and the last solo of the song is by Ai at 1:23. Then we have more marvelous chorus before this short but sweet dub ends. Other than my initial confusion, I greatly enjoyed this.

Sugaya Risako - Jess [ lilmenchi ]
Natsuyaki Miyabi - Reika [ candyraver009 ]
Tsugunaga Momoko - Beth [ bibblebobble629 ]
Kumai Yurina - Kayla [ goraxscene ]
Tokunaga Chinami - Chiyo [ xchiyochii ]
Sudou Maasa - Ayuchi [ ayulantina ]
Shimizu Saki - Rae [ talentlessloser ]

Otakebi Boy WAO! by Hello!Stage Shuffles (HelloStage) / This song again, lol. I don't actually really tire of it, but sometimes it's just like; really?! Some of Jess' lines were iffy, but she's got energy. I super adore Beth's parts and Reika sounds awesome. And as we all know, the other four girls don't get many lines - the ones they do have sound swell though. I like the "WAO"s and the mixing sounds good to my unknowledgable ears. Overall, a nice release from H!S.

"Brand New Sound"

Oh! by Jagiya (SakuranboDubs) / Review by Hikki /Alrighty! This is going to be a relatively short review today. Okay, I know I said that about the Shouganai review and it was like....the longest review I've ever written, but this time, it's for real. WHY? BECAUSE I HAVE A LASAGNA IN THE OVEN. Oh man, I love lasagna...

So, this is Sakuranbo's korean unit- Jagiya, and what's their debut single? Why, it's none other than OH! By Girl's Generation (SNSD). I'm so happy to be reviewing a korean dub! I love SNSD, and I've never heard any of Sakuranbo's releases, so I'm really excited to hear how it turns out. (I'm glad I did this! I'm expanding my dubbing horizon, hahaa)

Unfortunately, this dub just has a cast list, and I don't know if it's the order of solos, and there's no color coded lyrics, not to mention, I'm not familiar with ANY of the dubbers. So this is going to be really confusing/vague to read, and I apologize in advance.

Cast:
Rii (AzNxRawRx)
Chisako (JapanGirlHellopro)
Mashiro (iwearatshirttoday)
Sun-Hi (No Account)
Eva (covered by Mashiro)

Okay, the dub opens in a very 'in your face' manner, the chorus is REALLY loud and staticky. But there is very nice blending of the voices. First solo is originally sung by Seohyun and whoever did her solo had such a cute voice, although she sounded a bit shy. Have more confidence because you do have such a sweet sounding voice! Whoever did Tiffany's short solo has a really great tone, and attitude, she pulled off that solo perfectly!

Then it's whoever did Yuri's solo next! She has a nice, strong voice, but her mic quality is really obvious and there's a bit of static in there too. A few mispronunciations, but I'm not Korean, so I really shouldn't be talking. Then the next solo (after Jessica) is sung by Taeyeon and the dubber has a really relaxing tone, and I loved the small vibrato at the end. And after that is Sooyoung, and whoever had her solo had some pitching errors, but her line "Malhago shippeo" was sooo cute!

OKAY WAIT WAIT. Now I'm really confused, did the same person sing Seohyun and Tiffany's line? Ahhh! Okay, okay, if my guessing is correct Miss Cute did Seohyun and Tiffany's line. Miss Strong did Yuri and Jessica's lines. Miss Cool sang Taeyeon's lines and Miss Perky sang Sooyoung's lines?? Oh man, I don't even know if I'll be able to tell their voices apart, so I see no point in nicknaming their voices.

The chorus once again comes along, and I think the mixer should've really de-amped the lines to make it flow better (I suck with volumes, so again, I really shouldn't be talking). It especially sounds abrupt during the "dance dance dance" lines. But there were parts where the voices really fit each other!

I'm not gonna comment about the verse after the chorus too much. But I think everyone sounded better here! The pitching was right on (at most parts). The only thing I would critique on is that the energy was lacking a bit. But still, it was really pretty! I really liked the solo at 1:31, a bit loud, but it sounded really good! Random side note, I really love Tiffany's hair in every Girl's Generation single.

Then it's the second chorus, whoever did the "Ah ah ah ah" at 1:47 sounded so SUPER ADORABLE!! The person who had Yoona's solo at 1:54 has such a pretty voice, although it sounded a bit weak near the end, but it still sounded awesome! AND OMIGOSH! I love whoever had Sunny's solo at 1:57. Although the mic quality was pretty bad, the voice was really fantastic! Skip to 2:43, the "ah ah ah ah" blended like JOANFKANFAF! It sounded really awesome!

Overall, this was a really nice single to listen to, a bit iffy at parts, but nonetheless it was cute!

Aya here! Lol, I just forgot that I made this little image out of a printscreen when I was watching this dub the other day. Felt like sharing~

*SINGS SAKURANBO*

lol, I can't help it. Everytime I see or hear the word, I instantly think of the song Sakuranbo by Otsuka Ai. My mom walked by as I was making the banner, and was like; sauh koo ran bow, like totally wrong. Probably how many Americans say Japanese words before they figure it out some. Anyways~

I am completely new to this project, though I've been subscribed to them since somewhere near the time that they put out their auditions video. There isn't a lot of info on their profile, other than unit cast-lists. I'll admit, I was a slightly annoyed that I had to signup in order to even view their forums - since I'll never make use of the account, but I wanted to look around.

There are five groups, though only four of them currently have a cast listed; Bokura no Kaze, Hatsukoi Cherry, Kioku, and Jagiya - Yuèliàng has no members yet. From what I've seen, I am guessing that maybe Bokura might cover H!P and Hatsukoi might cover AKB48? Bokura's first single is by Morning Musume, and though it hasn't been released yet, Hatsukoi's first single is listed as Kanpeki Guu No Nee!

Or it could be that no groups are set to cover a certain something; I'll have to find out! I am excited about their (hopefully) coming releases though! Kanpeki by Hatsukoi Cherry, but also; right now Jagiya's first single is listed as Oh! by SNSD !!! I love that song. But moving on! The project's leader is Cathy (YT username ?) and she's got a few people sharing the mixing load with her.

Things seem to been moving smoothly so far - for their first release the deadline (May 10th) for lines was established on April 30th, giving the members 10 days. But all were in within 8 days! Bokura no Kaze's debut was released three days later;

Angeru (XangelfirebabeX)
Chisako (JapanGirlHellopro)
Mashiro (iwearatshirttoday)
Mirai (helloprojectlovers)
Rixie (RixieMixiePixieDixie)

Naichau Kamo / CClyrics / Aha! Another thing I found while poking about the forums; the color-coded lyrics! So enjoy'em, I'm going to. The beginning "Kamo"s are fabulous! I really liked Chisako's (last one). 0:23 is Mirai, she delivered her lines well and sounds good, but could maybe have used a little more umph! Following her is Rixie (0:31), and I love her "owaru no ne" - great emotion!!

Mashiro at 0:39, ohmygosh, I love her voice!! You don't hear very much of it right here, she has more solos. And 0:43 is Chisako; I like her "Jibun ni" - she has a lovely strong voice. I swear I hear a harmony here, like on the "watashi" and now I'm curious as to who did them when. Next, starting at 0:47, is four duets by three different pairs; An/Chi, Ri/Mi, & Ma/An. They're all wonderful!

I really like how Angeru and Mashiro sound together; epic blending. 1:05 is Angeru's first solo; she's slightly pitchy, but has awesome energy! There are a lot of little duet parts throughout this song, I really like them. The pairs stay the same, with the exception of one other combo that occurs a few times; Chi/Ma (like at 1:17). I also really like them as a duo.

1:21 is Mirai; she had more emotion in her voice this time, especially on the first line. There was a little strain on the higher notes, she was off key on a few, and her second line didn't flow very well. Following her are the end of the chorus "Naichau kamo"s, all of which sound super! I'm loving the umph! on the 'kamo' parts.

I'm going to skip the next verse and chorus since this is getting long, lol. But all of it (1:55-3:10) sounds splendid!! A few pitchy moments, but overall good energy and lovely lines. 3:28 to the end is probably my favorite part of this dub. Angeru starts it off with a great solo! All her notes were spot on, & I like her "ANAta" - the way she sung it.

And 3:33 is a kick-butt line from Rixie!! So energetic and awesome! I love it. Mashiro at 3:37, I really like her "Deatta koro mitai ni." Especially the 'tta' & 'mitai ni.' She delivered well, with good emotion. 3:45 is EPIC!! I adore how these girls sound together so much. fjenfjk fkjwnfjkenfw! Spectacular! On the first line the blending is great but you can sort of hear one girl - but the second line is brilliant.

3:53 is Chisako, her "saigo no" was nice, there were some strain on high notes, but she managed them well. And the last set of "Naichau kamo" & "kamo"s finish the song off, all of them sound fantastic!! So yeah, I got distracted a bit while writing this entry, and so it's spanned over an hour or two, lol. I have listened to this dub a lot within that time frame and I can honestly say I really really like this. I would really like the MP3, and I definitely suggest y'all listen~
