Misc [Project stuff + auds]

I've noticed a few projects made short videos about their latest going-ons, so I wanted to share them with y'all. And I was excited to see Hoshi's Dubbing History! Totally going to listen to that! I'm also going to add in some auditions videos~

Misc [H] Project Releases

Reika [ candyraver009 ]
Jess [ lilmenchi ]
Awai [ madleybloomingstar ]
Ash [ diabolicbread ]

*Hello Stage ~ Take It Easy by Kuusai / Ohmy H!S, it's been a while. This is a darling song and these girls did a fabulous job on it! I'd love to have some CClyrics, since it's a trio scripted to four people, but since I am without, I shall simply enjoy listening! The chorus is awesome!! I love everyone together, they sound so good!! The "shinging"s are terrific, as well as the many verse and prechorus solos.

Not sure if I'm matching names and voices up correctly, but- Reika and Awai are very cute & Ash and Jess sound lovely. All of the higher notes are well managed, and though the timing is a tiny bit iffy sometimes the mixing seems fine to me. The chorus is my favorite, but the dub overall is splendid!

Cast: Reika, Sara
Scarlett, Yumi, Shinju

*Hoshizora Dubs ~ Shabondama by Nikkou / Maya sent the MP3 of this to me not too long ago and I downloaded it then. I've listened to it a few times since, but I'll admit that I'm not crazy about this song (it's been a popular song choice lately though, eh?)- Nonetheless, this is a sensational dub! Oodles of energy and kickbutt singing! The lovely ladies that make up the cast sound magnificent! I love all of the "Shabondama"s! I may not being saying much about this dub (mainly because I wrote about this song somewhat recently) but it's definitely worth a listen!!

Sootie (SootjeNL)
Rii (AzNxRawRx)
Alie (AlieOngaku)

*Hanabi Project ~ Kacchoii ze! JAPAN by Hana-Bi-N / CClyrics / "If it wasn't for Alie graduating then I would have made these three a permanent group, they sound so good together!" I happen to agree with Hanabi's leader! The "KACCHOII ZE"s throughout the dub are swell but I like other parts more. Such as both of the "VERY VERY" solos; 'wonderful love' at 0:47 and 'beautiful kiss' at 2:13. All of the solos inbetween the group parts are marvelous! It's hard to pick out a few that I like from among them.

I think I'll go by girl, starting with Sootie! I think my favorite from her is at 1:20. I love her mature lovely voice, and she sounds great on the melody of the line, I especially like her ending "aru" ~ she hits the higher 'ru' wonderfully! I also really like her "sukoshi no magokoro areba ii" solo at 2:48 and her "subarashii machi" at 3:37!

Rii is such a cutie!! Though she's a little quiet in volume, her lines are all really sweet! I like her 1:44 solo, especially her "areba ii" ~ Then there's her "WELCOME TO MY TOWN" at 2:17, gosh she's so kawaii! I love how she sounds on "town" with that little bit of adorable attitude. And I also really like her "daisuki na machi" solo at 2:44!

Alie rocks! She's a strong singer that delivers well and sounds great, which you can really hear in her "WELCOME WELCOME" at 0:49! I also like her "sore ha yaranakya hajimaranai" at 2:24, her 'nai' is a soft but pretty. And I like her last solo of the song, her "sukoshi no magokoro areba ii" at 3:45. The girl are great individually and as a group, and overall I think this turned out really well!

Shimizu Saki : Kuri [KuriDesu27]
Tsugunaga Momoko : Arisu [RaReiRoo]
Tokunaga Chinami : Lily [SytheMeisterLily]
Sudou Massa : Kim [Miriko96]
Natsuyaki Miyabi : Natsumi [KonataIzumi124]
Kumai Yurina : Ayuna [AyunaDaisuki]
Sugaya Risako : Chinatsu [fandubzRmylife]

*HonkiProject ~ Otakebi Boy WAO by Kagayake Koubou / Lovely. Pretty. Ear-pleasing. This dub is many things! But this song is one that packs a punch & calls for a lot of WAO and I'm not hearing it. The girls don't sound bored, but they could definitely step up the energy. Don't get me wrong, they all seriously sound amazing!! Clear, cute, charming! Most certainly enjoyable. But this dub is lacking fervor. I love the cast dearly and look forward to hearing them again.

Saki: Ayuna [AyunaDaisuki]
Momoko: Kaede-chan [lolypop227]
Chinami: Kurichii [KuriDesu27]
Maasa: Kate-chan [PirateCool192]
Miyabi: Eun Mi [eunmijjang]
Yurina: Kanny [kannychan21]
Risako: Kate-chan [PirateCool192]

*HanaEmiProject ~ Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance by Bouken Berryz / I'm not a big fan of this song, but I actually enjoyed this dub a lot! I love the "TIKI TIKI TIKI"s and the Bouken girls sound really good on all the melodies and parts. Kate is fantastic on lead vocals & she and Kuri are marvelous on the solos following the "EBIBADE" lines.

I really like Eun Mi on Miyabi's part, and Kaede isn't always clearly understandable. You don't get much of a chance to hear Ayuna or Kanny, but their short solos are swell and they -and everyone else- contributed to the spectacular group parts! *downloads* I like this! Yeah maybe there could have been a little bit more energy, but I still think this turned out nicely!

Misc Project Releases [H] Part 2

One of latest from this project = "The debut of Hanabi! Pro Chicks! Our Project Chicks are valuable to Hanabi, they are helpful with covers when we need them, and they help us to decide on songs to sing and also get to participate in duets with My-chan....as well as making small sub-groups like Mini Moni (soon to arrive) or Buono! (soon to arrive ALSO)."

[Yuuka] Amulet Heart: Kumiko (baby14girl)
[Kanon] Amulet Clover: Corsica (CorsicaCovington)
[Akari] Amulet Spade: MomoK (xsclsm)
[Saki] Amulet Diamond: Mikuri (mimianclub)

Minna no Tamago by Hanabi! Pro Chicks / I'm happy to see CClyrics, and also something cool is that some of Yuuka's solos were turned into duets, to make line division more fair. Egah, making Momo's color so dark in the lyrics made it tricky to tell her apart from the black group parts, but I managed. D'aw, they're so cute! That's what I love about eggs (or egg-like groups), they may not be perfect but they totally try and are usually pretty darn sweet.

The beginning 'Pyon Fumu yeah Howa Kira yeah' etc solos are wonderful! Kumiko's mic is a little bit different than the others, but her lines aren't ruined because of it, not in the least - she sounds great! Corsica's 'fuma' pronunciation is so close, but it's supposed to have more of a w sound than an f sound. But it can be a bit tricky (I trip over it myself, lol) and I think she's super cute.

Momo and Mikuri could use a bit more umph, but that's only going off one solo; I'm waiting to hear them more. The 0:31 line is so cool, I love that it's a duet (Mo/Mi) and the girls sound awesome together! The blending is fab. On to the the verses! 0:39 is Kumiko, her "itte mo" sounds a little rushed, but that's pretty minor; her solo is splendid.

Following is Corsica, she has great pronunciation but sometimes it makes her syllables so short and divided (like her "daisuki datte") which doesn't allow for the line to have an smooth flow. Her "shitteru" is marvelous though, I love her vibrato. 0:46 is Momo, her "shocchuu" is a little iffy, and she's a bit pitchy but her mature voice suits Akari. Aw, I really like Mikuri; she has a darling voice and delivers well.

0:53 is the pre-chorus, which all of the girls sound great on, though Momo is a little bit pitchy. And then we hit the chorus, yay! It's really good, so kawaii. All of the "....koto" lines are terrific, though I like the ending "zenbu tamago no naka ni aru yo" the most. The 1:30 'Kura Bon yeah Puku Tsun yeah' etc turned out well. The second verse and pre-chorus are both pretty good. Though the remaining two choruses are pitchy here and there.

Overall this is a fabulous debut! For Kumiko I'd advise that she deliver her lines louder and work on her umph! Corsica should just work on making her pronunciation / syllables flow more, she has great volume. Momo should focus on her pitching, I'd like to hear her sing with more confindence. Mikuri seems to have good control, but once in a while she's close to rushing her lines. I'd like to hear more from this group~

Hanabi Recent Releases [Reviews by Ayuchan]

Aya note; I'm feeling way too tired to go through and enter in times, sorry. I did very light editor work on this, so please forgive any typos, etc.

Singers in order of solos:
MomoK (xscslm) [Hanabi! Pro Chick] [Cover for Bananacho]
Sootie (SootjeNL) [Hanabi! Pro Member Gen 1]
Rii (AzNxRawR) [Hanab! Pro Member Gen 1]
Peachii (animeobsessed40) [Hanabi! Pro Member Gen 1]
Kerri-kinz (StarburstSunDrops) [Hanabi! Pro Leader Gen 1]

Campus Life ~Umarete Kite Yokatta~ by H-appy / CClyrics / Yay! a colorcoded one! I love them, they are just soo different to conventional groupdubs, so let's go and talk about the solos right now!: first is MomoK; she's energetic and sounds nice. Next is Sootie; I love her mature tone, very Maimi-style. The we have Rii; she has great pitching and a cute tone.

Peachii's next; she has improved 2000%! lovely lovely lovely-my favorite solo from this first section. And last but not least, Kerri--She handled this solo very well, I find it kinda hard to do, congratulations. Blending in the duets is fantastic. Chorus: energetic, cute, mixing is fantastic, blending is very very good, one of my favorite Campus covers-chorus ever!!. The first "suki suki suki" is sooo good!

More solos!! Kerri; Cute, though it could have been a little more energetic? MomoK; love her tone, a little pitching problem but not a big deal. Sootie; GREAT! with a lot of personality. Rii; Wow! amazing!! great pitching again! my favorite solo from this section. Peachii; Stop being so cute!!!!! The next duet ~ there is a really small rhythmic difference between one person and the other, but not a big deal.

Chorus: EXCELLENT! I love the blending. The "Suki suki suki"s could have been a little more energetic. Oh more solos! First is Rii: Super cool! energy!! I can feel it !! Then Peachii; My absolute favorite solo in the whole song, super cute. Last chorus: Very nice, you guys have an amazing blending power. Last "suki suki suki" line is my favorite one. Great dub guys! Keep up the good work. *goes to ''great groupdubs'' playlist*

Be Your Girl by My-Chan [xLittleMystery] / My first time hearing this song. And I find it very interesting; it has a catchy rhythm, the melody is very cute, & it requires feeling and strength at the same time. My-chan did a nice job ~ pitching is good overall, her voice has a sweet pure tone that's very cute and I like it.

I like her interpretation, maybe she's right about energy??? it could have a little more power but this is still very enjoyable. 3:07 is my favorite part, she sounds very angelical. The chorus that follows is very nice, it has a bit more energy than the previous ones. At 4:13, those "baby baby" parts are very nice too. She did a good job. *mmm! favorites!*

Singers in order of solos:
MomoK (covering Bananacho)
Sootie (SootjeNL)
Peachii (animeobsessed40)
Kerri-kinz (StarburstSunDrops)
Rii (AzNxRawR)

Cinderella Complex by High-Priestess / CClyrics / Blending is very good. Energy is soo good! - that was the first thing that caught my attention to this dub! The "give me love give me love" parts are very cute. First set of solos is very nice, I know this is a hard song for those who are used to singing very high pitched songs, because the notes are kinda low; everyone did a good job! My favorite solo from the first section is 0:59 "yonde kureta hanashi wa" sung by Peachii. Blending in the chorus is EPIC WIN! the mixing is great too. Solos could have been kinda more powerful? But still, very enjoyable.

Next section the "yes yes yo!"s and the "c'mon"s are very powerful and they give the song a strong feeling; I like it. 2:01 really caught my attention: (the Ke/So "Terebi mitete mo" & the Ri/Pe "namida ga dechau wa" ~ you can hear the first low part as you're used to hear it and the second one the octave higher melody shows up suddenly. But it sounds nice. Was it on purpose? Nice voices girls!

I love the second chorus a lot. "Juuniji sugichau yo" sung by Sootie is very nice! This is a very nice cast, because if you mix Peachii and Kerri's sweetness with MomoK, Sootie and Rii's great vocals, you get this kind of dub. The solos are outstanding and the group parts blend very well. Good job minna! * FavoriteS!!!*

R&R + PBS

Campus Life ~Umarete Kite Yokatta~ (hosted by Rakkun93) / LOL, Rae was talking to Aly, Rakkun and I while mixing part of this. They're a bunch of awesome people. With a lot of H!P songs, I'll hear them the first time and be like; whatev. And then a little bit later, I'm all; wow this is really good / I love this song! imadork. Cause that's what I did with this song. But now, I actually like it a lot. Even more so right at this moment, cause I am listening to these two fabulous singers singing it!

I don't even know Rae's mum, but she is one epic person (so is ChiiAyuchan's momma). If I asked my mom to sing something with me, she'd probably look at me funky and then laugh at whatever songs I showed her. Plus she can't really sing, cause she had surgery on her spine via her neck a few years ago, and her vocal chords got jacked up in the process. So singing is difficult for her. And as for my sisters; one of them would be all WTF LOL, and the other one would probably politely tell me no and laugh in the process, cause she sings gospel music and would likely refuse to attempt Japanese. Anyways! (lol, rambling) I think it's great that her mom is so cool that she sings with Rae, even if it is some "Go go! Fight"s or some "YEY"s.

I love that these two each picked a girl to be in color whenever they sang; Rakkun gets points for using Chisato!! And come on, who doesn't love Airi? *no hands are raised by the crowd* that's what I thought! PVs are all good and fun, but not a necessity when it comes to a good dub. So props to Rakkun for doing the bit with the pictures. I know Rae worked hard on the mixing, and it turned out fabulously!

!! I couldn't help but lol a little when I read part of Eve's (xsweetgurl) comment, "Rakkun-san, you actually have a really..HOT voice." - Rakkun does have a smexy voice, eh? Well, whatever word y'all use to describe it, he is one fine singer! I always enjoy listening to him; in fact, I verbally prodded him into giving me the download for his Hitomi no Screen dub!!

But yeah, this is a good song for him. I really like his vibrato, and he did great on his part of the chorus. Gah, his verse solos are fantastic, I love'em all! Rae is a mix of pretty & adorable in this; I've always really liked her singing, and I knew that she would sound as wonderful as ever before I even clicked the play button. She was great on the verses too, & I super love her solo at 2:50!! The music quites down, so you can really hear her; she's epic! And also her "SUKI SUKI SUKI" at 3:18!

This entire dub is just FOW, so go listen~

"First generation member, Princess Peachii, is celebrating her day of birth, and to help her celebrate, we, the members of Hanabi Project have sung this groupdub for Peachii with a little twist to it! This is a birthday dedication to Peachii, who will also be receiving a mini album with solos from the other members and this very song. For this surprise we gave it a code name: PBS which Kerri-kinz calls Peanut Butter Sammich but it actually means Peachii's Birthday Surprise. ENJOY!"

Kago Ai - My-chan (xLittleMystery)
Tsuji Nozomi - Kerri-kinz (StarburstSunDrops)
Yaguchi Mari - Rii (AzNxRawRx)
Mika Todd - Sootie (SootjeNL)

Mini. Peachiiful Pie by HanabiProjects / CClyrics / This is so sweet! I don't like the song itself very much, but the thought behind this dub is incredibly nice. I really like pep and energy, the girls all sound really cute and wonderful. Happy Birthday Peachii~

Hanabi Charms

Yuuka -- Nina
Saki -- Belly
Ayaka -- Yuri
Kanon -- Risa
-Nina as temporary cover for Jelli-chan-

/ Review by Fae / Waahhh my first entry for Aya's blog! This is exciting~ I don't want to ramble and bore you all though, so without further ado, onto the dub! This is Ama no Jaku from ChARmSproject's group Sakura Dreams! Ama no Jaku is the second single from this group. (I wonder what they did first? ... apparently Otona ni Narutte Muzukashii, covered on here by our lovely Aya!) This song has been covered a lot, so I always find it interesting to hear new versions of it, although I have to admit I prefer the later smileage releases!

Major props to Nina for stepping in as a cover! I don't think I know any of the singers in this, so this is doubly exciting (Ah, I notice ChARmSproject have their logo in the corner of the video! I don't remember if Aya mentioned it before, but it's super cute! Noticeable enough without drawing too much attention from the video itself!)

This song launches straight into solos giving me a chance to listen to the voices individually~ And wow! These girls all sound so cute here! First up is Nina as Yuuka. (Ok, the amount of times I'm going to squee over how adorable these people are while I write this will be ridiculous). I don't know what it is, but the last word of her first solo really stands out to me! So much character, it really fit with Yuuka's expression! Her pitching is great as well! One thing I would love to hear more of from Nina, and in general from this cast is just a tad more energy! It seemed like they were holding back a bit to fit the song.

Next is Belly! Her voice is more mature than the rest of the cast and it sounds great! I really loved the feeling in all her lines. Her voice is very unique and pretty! Then we come to what has to be the cutest voice in this cast. Yuri sounds adorable! One thing that really stood out to me while watching this was how well the singers fit their member. Not that they were voice clones, just that it seemed so natural to hear their voices coming out of the faces! Finally we get to Risa's lines. Risa's voice has a really soft feeling to it which is great to hear! This can make her sound a bit quiet at times though, so don't be afraid to sing out!

I must say I really enjoyed the choruses in this song! I'm so glad the mixer went to the trouble of putting in all the echoes, and the girls blend really nicely. All the timing is spot on as well! Whoever mixed this did a brilliant job with that. Gah, I really enjoyed this dub. I'm definitely going to keep an eye on them from now on~

Kerri-chan [StarburstSunDrops]
Sootie [SootjeNL]
Peachii [Animeobsessed40]
Rii [AzNxRawRx]

Subete wa ai no chikara by Miracle Musume (Hanabi Projects) / Review by Ayu / [CClyrics] Blending is very good! It's the first dub I've heard of this song; I've been waiting to hear a good one, and this is very kawaii. Kerri's solo at 0:46 is beautiful. Her line at 1:11 is very sweet too. The girls could use a little more energy overall, since this is a song that requires it a lot. But I think everyone did a very good job besides that.

Good pitching overall and pronounciation is very nice too, I think what i like the most is the mixing and the chorus blending. Sootie at 2:46 is my very favorite part of the dub; great energy, phrasing and pitch - she kinda reminded me of Takahashi's voice. Lovely lovely.

~Aya here! Adding onto what Ayu's already said, I've had a listen myself and I agree with the majority of what she says *nodnod* But I wanted to toss out there that I adore the group parts! The solos are nice, but I think the chorus is my favorite. I really like all of the "Hey Hey Sugoi/Sugoku"s - great blending.

There are a lot of duets sung by different pairs throughout the song; the first set at 0:53 are each of the girls paired with Rii. And the second set is at 1:52, this time it's each of the girls singing with Peachii. I like all of them, especially Kerri and Peachii on there "Aa Maru de jinsei" at 1:56. As Ayuchan said, this could use more energy, but it's nice overall.

Hanabi & Charms [by Kappa]

Rii [ AzNxRawRx ]
Bananacho [ amandaphobia08 ]
Sootie [ SootjeNL ]
Peachii [ animeobsessed40 ]

Resonant Blue by HanabiProjects / This is the first track off of Hanabi Project’s second single, titled Blue Moon. I’ll have to admit that it’s not one of my favorite songs to hear anymore, because Tsunku keeps trying to make it the new Love Machine and play it all the bloody time, but knowing some of these girls’ voices, I was interested to see what they do with it.

Despite that I know some of these girls, without color-coded lyrics I’m having a hard time telling who is who, so bear with me if I point out people by timemark instead of name. :P

I like the tone of the Reina—is that Rii? (*read some of the comments*) She totally sounds 20x better here than she did in the Onna ni Sachi Are by HoshiDubs that I reviewed just a couple days ago. The energy is much more appropriate, and although she’s still having some microphone issues, it’s much easier to listen to. Great emotion out of her here!

I’m guessing that Bananacho is the Ai here. She did a pretty good job overall and has pretty voice and emotion behind her lines. I noticed some pitching and pronunciation errors throughout, though, so be careful about falling flat and your tongue tripping you up. Singing almost half of the song solo can give you a lot to focus on, but I would have liked to hear juuust a little more accuracy out of her. Still, there were some lines in here that she sounded awesome on!

It’s hard to say too much about Peachii and Sootie, since they barely got any lines, but I think they sound good! Loved the ah ah ah’s! The only thing I would have wanted was a bit more energy out of them, and it’s a shame the Sayumi’s HELP ME!! at the end got left out. As a note to the mixer, I would have found someone to cover it if you couldn’t get the line from the file it was supposed to be in—it could have been done pretty quickly by anyone, including yourself.

On the mixing side, I would have liked to hear reverb on the lines to make them blend together a little more, and be careful about the volume between people on duet lines. Rii often overpowered Bananacho—while part of that is probably energy differences, sometimes you can help it out a bit by just lowering the volume of the more energetic singer. Overall, though, the mix was okay—just work on evening out volumes and making sure you’ve got everything in the mix before you export and post it!

Tsugunaga Momoko : Yuuki-chan
Suzuki Airi : Nina-chan
Natsuyaki Miyabi : Belly-chan

Goal by Ai~Su Cream (from ChARmSproject) / I ADORE this song, first off. It’s one of the best Buono songs ever, in my opinion.. and totally reminds me of Viva La Vida every time I hear it still. But anyway, I’m SO glad someone dubbed this!

On the vocals as a whole, I felt they had the perfect feeling and tone for the song, altough I would have liked to hear a bit more energy out of Nina and Yuuki. It sounds like they were trying a bit too hard to fit the song and held back just a little too much. I loved Belly’s energy, though! She had the perfect balance that made her shine out, but kept her sounding subdued enough to still fit the song.

My favorite part of this are the choruses. All three girls blend well together, and their high notes sound really soft and pretty! I might have wanted a little more out of them energy-wise, but even so they were pleasant to listen to.

The mixing is nice and together, except for a couple syllables here and there where one girl will stick out. The verse solos were all perfectly in time as well, so great job to the mixer who put those together. As people who know me know, I am absolutely neurotic about timing and I hear everything, so I totally respect anyone who can mix something and there’s nowhere I would move the syllables around.

One thing that did bother me a bit about the mixing is that the weird mic qualities paired with a low quality concert rip instrumental are keeping me from really believing the dub. I know from experience that you can’t use regular instrumentals with live Buono dubs because of their live band that plays at a different tempo, but I probably would have looked for a better quality rip and thrown on some filters to the channels to get your instrumental to come out a bit better. I’ve had to make instrumentals off of this concert before and I know for a fact that if you get the audio rip HD enough, the center channel will extract pretty well.

Anyway, I enjoyed this a lot! I find myself a bit jaded and cynical about Buono cover groups these days, but I’ve got some respect for this one now. Great job!

Misc Auds

"Hanabi! Project is holding their generation 2 auditions where My-chan will finally be settled with fellow Sunlight members." Kerri is such a fun person, and she did a great job on setting up this video for auditions and putting together all the info so that anyone interested has all the information they need! Rules, the form, and a 'how to' of sorts is all in the drop-down section. Don't hesitate to audition if you're interested. Hanabi has had a really good start.

"With the graduation of Nana, we are searching for two new members to join Lady&Love!" Auditions are open until the 30th of May! I really like the dub that's playing during the video. Gah, I love Korean groups, and that's one reason I really like that Musume Charm has a unit like this. Don't miss out!

Misc Project RRs

Love&Peace=Paradise by My-Chan (HanabiProjects) / Yay! My-chan sounds really cute/sweet. Yeah, there is some pitchiness, but it's not too bad. And in this dub, it's kind of endearing. She acknowledges that the song is a little high for her, but don't we all sing stuff out of our range now and then? My-Chan has pretty good energy, and overall I enjoyed. I look forward to her next solo~

Shimizu Saki: Airen [malajesterices]
Tsugunaga Momoko: Mystery [xLittleMystery]
Tokunaga Chinami: Ameimi [Ameimii]
Sudou Maasa: Eririn [CharmyStar01]
Natsuyaki Miyabi: Sen [NatsujiSen]
Kumai Yurina: Memoire [Memoiree] (covering Naoka)
Sugaya Risako: Ai [kakkoiko]

MADAYADE by Shiny Sapphires (KireinoBijoux) / LOL, I got sidetracked watching the video as I listened and before I knew it was I was doing those hands-in-the-air moves while I cheered the "HAH"s along with them, and also the swirly hand movement they do during the "mada mada madayade" parts. I can't help it, the chorus is so catchy. Annnnd, my mind easily thought that I was listening to Berryz!

Anyways, on the actual dub itself. All of the solos sounded good and were well delivered, but most people could have used more energy. The chorus and group parts are fan-freaking-tastic!! My favorite part of the dub, hands down. I think this is a very good debut! Just up the energy a notch and the next dub will be smashing!

Mitsui Aika: BanryuSaint
Nakajima Saki: Diabolicbread
Kumai Yurina: NicNac4Eva
Sugaya Risako: NatsujiSen

Going On! by Sukai (HoshiDubs) / Very nice! I'm having a blank moment and can't think of anything good to say. This is a great cast, and every one of them sounds splendid! I'm glad it was noted that the harmonies are from the original song, cause then I made sure to pay more attention to the duets and solos, since I wanna hear these lovely ladies. The energy level overall could be better, but I like the solos a lot; there were so many good ones in this.

Hanabi Pro [Part 3] Latest Release

Cast, in order of hearence~

Rii (AzNxRawRx)
Kerri-chan (StarburstSunDrops)
Peachii (animeobsessed40)
Sootie (SootjeNL)

Ai no Tane by Miracle Musume / By no means is this perfect, but it sure is lovely to listen to. Kerri has mentioned that the mixing isn't great, but I (mixing-retarded Aya) think it sounds just fine! There were some off notes throughout (solos and group parts), but I think they gave the dub character, and no off parts were unbareable.

The blending isn't really there, but I think it's something that will be achieved through practice. All of the singers are close friends and I'm sure they've dubbed together before, but that doesn't mean their voices will automatically blend together. Part of it might also have been the mixing ?

Sootie and/or Rii is easily heard and somewhat overpowers the others. The enthusiasm is charming, but maybe if some volumes were altered, they'd all blend more? idk really, I have zero mixing knowledge. As for duets, Peachii and Kerri sound marvelous together.

Most of y'all know by now that I suck at following along with who's singing what solos when. So I got kind of confused and then stopped trying to figure it out, lol. As I said, there is pitchiness, but still some nice solos. (I hope I'm not mixing people up ;w;) Rii and Sootie both have good volume and energy, and lovely mature voices. Peachii has an really cute voice! And Kerri sounds soft and sweet, though I'd like to hear her sing with a little louder & with more confidence!

Always, always; regardless of little things, I still enjoyed listening! Props to the girls for completing their debut single! They all did a fantastic job! Even if I nit-picked at stuff a bit, don't focus on it. Practice brings progress and I know their next dub will be even better!

Remember back when I covered Iroppoi Jirettai by Shuensha (HoshiDubs)? There was a good handful of very off lines in it. But! I listen to that dub pretty much every single day. I've become so used to hearing those off parts that I now find them almost endearing. They're added character that makes the dub interesting and one of a kind.

So, I like this dub, as some would say; warts and all. A big ARIGATOU (Ookiku Kansha~ LOL) to the Hanabi girls for sharing their voices with us. I'll be keeping an eye on the project for future releases, and also for the Gen 2 auditions~

Hanabi Pro [Part 2] Interview

The above image was pulled from the project's forum, which is very pink and sparkly. lol.

MINI INTERVIEW TIME~

After Kerri contacted me, I asked her for some info and here are her replies to what I asked. A big thank you to her for taking the time to write out wonderfully informative and interesting answers!

AYA: *Obviously your project is new, but when did it officially begin?*

KERRI: "It officially began when it basically started, about 1/2 weeks ago."

AYA: *Where did you get the idea from?*

KERRI: "The idea for Hanabi! Project came after I dubbed my first single for Wakusei! (Nanchatte Renai), and even though I was still new to fandubbing in a singing group, I told my sister that I was going to make my own group,

"because singing is actually something that makes me happy right now, so if I could make a group that was my own, then I would be happier and hopefully make those in my group happy as well as make them work hard."

AYA: *I see no audition video up, did y'all figure out the first generation without auditions? Do you plan on holding auditions for more generations?*

KERRI: "The first generation are actually a few girls from Wakusei! Project who I am really close with, and they each have really nice voices. I asked them all in a PM if they wanted to be a part of my group and they said yes. . . .

"My original intention was to have an audition video up, but then I thought it would be nicer to have a group already made. . . .the girls were very quick with their lines, which made me happy, and it's their dedication which I want in this project. . . .

"I do plan on future generations, I actually have an audition video made already. I have decided that after our second single's A-side is released, the audition video will be released (soon after). . . .for generation 2, which will be the Sunlight Auditions, and Generation 2 will be dubbed as Sunlight Generation."

AYA: *What would you say is the goal of your project;* Are you set on making progress as a group, or is your main goal to just have fun? Somewhere inbetween?

KERRI: ". . . .my goal is to make people happy, primarily the people within the group. My first group Wakusei! is like a family, I was really REALLY lucky to get into it, and I wanted to have a family like group that was friendly and fun,

"so my main aim is to have fun and make people SEE that we are a dedicated group who have fun as well as a strong connection with each other, because my first gen are like my sisters, and hopefully future generations will also be like sisters to me. . . ."

AYA: *Anything interesting you'd like to add?*

KERRI: "Well my group members (and I). . . .have like, respective roles within the group. Peachii is our little Princess, Sootie is our old man who gives us virtual candy, & me and My-chan are like the evil step-sisters in Cinderella, because we were being mean to Sootie on the forums and she dubbed us as Portia and Joy, which I think is great, and Rii is like a prince Charming to me, I like, love her voice!"

AYA: *Any questions for me?*

KERRI: "What inspired you to write your blog? And how did you find fandubbing?"

AYA: When I was working on my other two blogs, Rae (SingingOnDemand) suggested I start a dubbing blog. I'm not sure where she got the idea from, but I liked it so I decided to just do it! I like to write, and I always liked to leave long comments on dubs, plus I have good organizing skills (at least I like to think so, lol); so I figured I'd be able to pull it off.

I discovered fandubbing shortly after I first discovered Asian music itself. I'd always been interested, but had a crappy computer/internet connection which YouTube hated, so I couldn't load videos (well I could, but it took like an hour to load one minute or something). Around June of last year I had a somewhat better internet and began looking into the amazing world of Asian music, mainly Japanese at first.

I listened to some jrock which I wasn't insanely into, before I somehow stumbled across H!P - I think my first might have been Piriri to Yukou by Berryz Koubou, but I'm not positive. After fastly becoming a H!P fangirl, I don't remember exactly how but I discovered that people actually recorded themselves and put it with the video, and other people listened and commented; it was this whole world that tons of people interacted in.

And that was how I was introduced to dubbing. Somewhere along the way I met Rae and thought she was so cool and all-knowing. When really she hadn't been dubbing for all that long, lol. Through her I met other dubbers and discovered different projects. Now she is a leader of her own group in Hana Project, one of the best dubbing groups; and I have Blabodu and all my wonderful supporters/friends.

OMG I RAMBLED ;w; [/end crazy-long interview]

Hanabi Pro [Part 1] Intro

So! I was listening to a dub by Hello! Club and read a comment where Peachii (animeobsessed40) mentioned Hanabi. From there I searched it on youtube, went to their channel and subscribed so I could check them out later. But before I could, Hanabi's leader, Kerri, messaged me on YT requesting that I check out the project and maybe help to get the word of their existence out and about.

And funny enough, Rii (AzNxRawRx) was the one who suggested she talk to me. lol. I can't help but find it amusing how one thing lead to another between Hanabi's members & me. Thank you to Rii for being such a sweetheart and encouraging Kerri, and to Peachii for unintentionally directing me towards the group in the first place!

As some of you may have noticed, I added two more groups to Blabodu's banner; Hello! Club and Hanabi Pro. Just for kicks. Singing for yourself or as part of a group is fun, but we'll all admit that getting compliments from others means a lot. I encourage everyone to check out all of the wonderful projects named on the banner, and also the ones I've blogged about (refer to labels).

Now onto the project itself!!

Hanabi really has only one official generation at the moment, understandably so, since they are still so new. They have such a cute name; Blue Moon! It's members are;

Kerri-chan (StarburstSunDrops)
Bananacho (amandaphobia80)
Rii (AzNzRawRx)
Peachii (animeobsessed40)
Sootie (SoojeNL)

Kerri is the project leader and Bananacho is her helpful sub-leader. Also - "After our first single, we gained a new member, My-chan, who is our soloist within Hanabi!" xLittleMystery, know endearingly as My-Chan, is listed as the first member of generation two, since she was a late addition. Eventually she will gain fellow Gen 2 members.

Hanabi just finished their first single, A Woman's Love. The A-side is Onna Ga Medatte Naze Ikenai, and the B-side is Ai no Tane. From what I read, Resonant Blue is to be the project's next A-side, though the single's title has not been mentioned. And - "As of the first single's B-side, we are now a randomized group and will jump from group to group. Nobody will be in a set group."

Here is their debut dub for your listening pleasure;

Takahashi Ai: Sootie (SootjeNL)
Tanaka Reina: Peachii (animeobsessed40)
Niigaki Risa: Kerri-chan (StarburstSunDrops/me)
Kamei Eri: Rii (AzNxRawRx)
