Misc Auds

"Five months ago something epic started. And now we want you to be part of it. Can you sing with energy? Can you sing with passion? Can you follow rules? Can you fight for your dreams? Can you sing better than Koharu? Can you be the best? . . . .three girls will join us. You're welcome to try. May the best win. Game on."

LOL, I find this video highly amusing, in a good way. I think Hello! Club put a cool spin to this audition video of theirs. Auditioning isn't really about beating out other people, but the dramaticness of the video makes me smile. I like how well the pictures go along with whatever the text is at the time. The drop-down section has the audition form and rules~

"Hi everyone! I got a bit overwhelmed with the weekly video updates for the auditions so I've decided that this one will be used for a permanent audition video. The Hello!Project All Stars Idol Competition of Summer 2010 has opened for auditions until all 16 weeks/themes are completed." You can read more in the video's drop-down.

It's 5am, so I'm not functioning very well right now. Just trying to get this entry posted so I can crawl into bed, LOL. I met Renna today, the creator and leader of HPAS, and she is a really nice girl. Check out my entry on the contest, where links are included.

Kira!Kira Project Generation 2 auditions / The majority of the info is in the video. But you can find an audition form in the drop-down, as well as which spots are currently open. I would have put more of the info that's in the video also in the drop-down, since you have to stop and play the video & the text isn't always super easily readable (depending on size). But, don't hesitate to apply if you're interested!!

daiKIRAI ~ daiSUKI

Abe Natsumi - Aiko [reinaloverai]
Iida Kaori/Yasuda Kei - Michiru [hitsugayahinamori]
Nakazawa Yuko/Yaguchi Mari - Kokoro [coconstorm]
Fukuda Asuka - Midori [midoriiw]
Ishiguro Aya /Ichii Sayaka - Raiko [mirailai]

Summer Night Town by Melody Musume (Hello! Club) / Bah, this came out back on May 24th and I'm just now getting to it. I would probably have forgotten altogether if the lovely Lai hadn't asked me about it. I think the reason I passed over it easily is partially because I'm not crazy about the song; so listening to about 4 minutes of it over and over again doesn't exactly thrill me. There are tons of harmonies and group parts in this, so, much like the leaders and probably many of the members, I am looking forward to when they get into the mid - to - late Momusu songs.

The opening "SUMAIRU"s are by Ai/Ra, who did a good job on them, they also have the two following lines. All of the "daiKIRAI"s in the first little chorus part, by various groups of girls, turned out pretty swell too. Though the higher "daiSUKI" at 0:24 sounds a little strained and slightly off. I think I am going to focus on solos and whatever parts I like, cause there are way too many different little duets & trios and such to comment on them all.

0:36 is Kokoro, her line starts on "itsumo" but you can't tell my listening. Same with Aiko's "dakedo" at 0:40ish. I have Momusu's version of this song and when you listen to these same parts, you can hear the first word being sung. I know it's kind of fast, which makes it a little tricky, and I'm sure this whole song wasn't very easy to mix; but when I hear those spots, I go - What?

Oh, like Michiru at 0:48!! Still the same verse-melody, but you can hear her first word, "donna" -and then it's Aiko again at 0:52, and this time around you can also hear her line's beginning, "tada no" which sounds really good! She sings it with attitude. Ra/Mid (as Aya & Asuka) seem to be a popular duo in this song, their colors pop up oftenly in the CClyrics on projecthello during the verses. All of the duets from 0:34 to 0:57 (with the exception of two) are by them, and I think they did a good job.

0:59 is Midori on the pre-chorus - she sounds pretty snazzy and sings with a nice level of energy. I can't decide which of the three lines I like the most; her first line is marvelous but so is the following one. And I like her ending "watashi" as well. Aiko also has part of the pre-chorus at 1:07, and wow!! she rocked her lines! omg. I am loving the emotion she sings with! raburabu! During both of their parts, Mic/Ko/Ra sing all of the little echo bits, like "for you" & "I want you" ~

Uwah, I really like the chorus; probably my favorite part of this dub. The blending is lovely and the girls all sound fantastic! The 'u' in the "sou" at 1:23ish is kind of off though. Ugh, the unfairness of lines annoys me, way to go H!P. Stupid Abe is such a line whore, grr. Because of this Aiko gets the most solos, while the rest of the girls, especially Midori and Raiko, get hardly any. I look foward to other releases from H!C, with less harmony and with at least slightly more fairness.

Skimming over the next verse, we go straight for the first part of the pre-chorus at 2:09, which is all Raiko; I would have liked a little bit more umph! from her, but she has a lovely voice. And from 2:26 to the end is chorus chorus chorus. There are some iffy notes and harmonies here and there, most of them on the higher notes. Overall, my opinion of the song kept me from truly enjoying this, but regardless of little things that can be nitpicked at, it's a nice release~

H!C's debut single complete~

If you remember Hello!Club from their debut and my first cover of them - "our goal is to cover Hello!Project songs according to it's timeline." The A-side to their first single by Melody Musume, Loving Coffee, was released in the first half of April. And now the girls follow up with the B-side; Ai no Tane~

Abe Natsumi - Raiko [mirailai]
Iida Kaori - Michiru [hitsugayahinamori]
Nakazawa Yuko - Kokoro [coconstorm]
Fukuda Asuka - Midori [midoriiw]
Ishiguro Aya - Aiko [aikoaki]

Even though Michi was a tough leader on the girls (understandably so), I think this is spectacular!! I do agree that it could have used more energy and emotion, but the singing is wonderful. I haven't listened to any dubs of this song recently, but I want to say that this is one of the better ones, definitely. Momusu's first single is one of my favorites, and I think H!C did a pretty good job on it!

And I'm probably overlooking it, (blinded by optimism, lol), but I didn't notice the off timing. I haven't really sat here and listened super hard for it, so I can safely say that when casually listening it doesn't jump out at you like a large hairy scary monster or anything. I listened to this like 12 times last night before bed and again now, & even if it could be better I can't help liking it.

I adore the simple pretty melody of the chorus to lovely little bits, and I think these girls did a good job on it, except maybe a little more emotion would be nice. Some of the solos were too quiet, semi-pitchy or lacking energy, but overall they were pretty good. The girls probably need to work a little individually on whatever they feel needs improvement. As long as they keep having fun!

I liked the groups parts; this cast sounds good together. And whatever the number of wrong notes was, for every one there was a splendid note somewhere else in the dub. Keep practicing and I just know that each single will be better than the one before! The next two songs on the timeline are Summer Night Town and A Memory of Summer '98 - both of which I like. I'm looking forward to the B-side; it's such a pretty song.

New project!! Hello Club just released the A-side to their debut single, Loving Coffee, this past Friday. H!C's plan is to "cover Hello!Project songs according to H!P's timeline. Basically, we will start covering only Morning Musume and then create Tanpopo, Melon Kinenbi, etc."

So even though they are beginning with one generation made up of only five girls, their numbers will eventually grow as more Gens and groups are added/formed. H!C's first group is called Melody Musume. As I mentioned in the RCR entry, I think doing it this way is a great idea! Fun and challenging, and who knows; maybe some members will discover new songs along the way.

Abe Natsumi - Raiko [mirailai]
Iida Kaori - Michiru [hitsugayahinamori]
Nakazawa Yuko - Kokoro [coconstorm]
Fukuda Asuka - Midori [midoriiw]
Ishiguro Aya - Aiko [aikoaki]

A few off parts, but overall this was a very good debut for Melody Musume! I know singing the harmonies may not be tons of fun, but I think they really make the song, and they sounded great! The blending on group parts was lovely.

I am looking forward to Ai no Tane so badly. Even though Momusu has gone through so many Gens and releases, I've always liked their debut single a lot. Ai no Tane & Morning Coffee are simple songs, but pretty. So I shall definitely be keeping an eye out! For those interested, H!C actually has a full list of their coming singles on their forum.

Annnnnd~ Hello! Stage recently released their third Shuffle dub!

Sugaya Risako - Reika [ candyraver009 ]
Michishige Sayumi - Chiyo [ xchiyochii ]
JunJun - Jess [ lilmenchi ]

Audio Mixing: Jess
PV Mixing : Chiyo

ONLY YOU / Reika nailed and rocked her lines! Chiyo sounds different, lower than usual; but not bad. Close to being pitchy. Gah, she hurt herself on vacation; feel better Chiyo!! Jess sounds cute, but should sing with a little more umph! The small group parts were wonderful, like at 0:52.

Beginning solo by Reika was awesome! Chiyo sounded good at 2:14, probably the line I liked the most. And 1:58 was Jess, I really liked her little "Come on" at the end of her solo; it was peppy. Their "silence"s sounded great! And I adored the "Only Only Only"s at the end of the song! Chiyo's little "Last time" was cute~
