Summer Night Town by Melody Musume (Hello! Club) / Bah, this came out back on May 24th and I'm just now getting to it. I would probably have forgotten altogether if the lovely Lai hadn't asked me about it. I think the reason I passed over it easily is partially because I'm not crazy about the song; so listening to about 4 minutes of it over and over again doesn't exactly thrill me. There are tons of harmonies and group parts in this, so, much like the leaders and probably many of the members, I am looking forward to when they get into the mid - to - late Momusu songs.

The opening "SUMAIRU"s are by Ai/Ra, who did a good job on them, they also have the two following lines. All of the "daiKIRAI"s in the first little chorus part, by various groups of girls, turned out pretty swell too. Though the higher "daiSUKI" at 0:24 sounds a little strained and slightly off. I think I am going to focus on solos and whatever parts I like, cause there are way too many different little duets & trios and such to comment on them all.

0:36 is Kokoro, her line starts on "itsumo" but you can't tell my listening. Same with Aiko's "dakedo" at 0:40ish. I have Momusu's version of this song and when you listen to these same parts, you can hear the first word being sung. I know it's kind of fast, which makes it a little tricky, and I'm sure this whole song wasn't very easy to mix; but when I hear those spots, I go - What?

Oh, like Michiru at 0:48!! Still the same verse-melody, but you can hear her first word, "donna" -and then it's Aiko again at 0:52, and this time around you can also hear her line's beginning, "tada no" which sounds really good! She sings it with attitude. Ra/Mid (as Aya & Asuka) seem to be a popular duo in this song, their colors pop up oftenly in the CClyrics on projecthello during the verses. All of the duets from 0:34 to 0:57 (with the exception of two) are by them, and I think they did a good job.

0:59 is Midori on the pre-chorus - she sounds pretty snazzy and sings with a nice level of energy. I can't decide which of the three lines I like the most; her first line is marvelous but so is the following one. And I like her ending "watashi" as well. Aiko also has part of the pre-chorus at 1:07, and wow!! she rocked her lines! omg. I am loving the emotion she sings with! raburabu! During both of their parts, Mic/Ko/Ra sing all of the little echo bits, like "for you" & "I want you" ~

Uwah, I really like the chorus; probably my favorite part of this dub. The blending is lovely and the girls all sound fantastic! The 'u' in the "sou" at 1:23ish is kind of off though. Ugh, the unfairness of lines annoys me, way to go H!P. Stupid Abe is such a line whore, grr. Because of this Aiko gets the most solos, while the rest of the girls, especially Midori and Raiko, get hardly any. I look foward to other releases from H!C, with less harmony and with at least slightly more fairness.

Skimming over the next verse, we go straight for the first part of the pre-chorus at 2:09, which is all Raiko; I would have liked a little bit more umph! from her, but she has a lovely voice. And from 2:26 to the end is chorus chorus chorus. There are some iffy notes and harmonies here and there, most of them on the higher notes. Overall, my opinion of the song kept me from truly enjoying this, but regardless of little things that can be nitpicked at, it's a nice release~
