! ! ! I just got home from a little family outing and plopped down to do whatever. When I looked at my subs list and saw that Buggy has released the next episode of Dubber's Radio, I was super mega excited! (Then I got sidetracked by blogging about Martha and Leilani for a bit, lol)
Before I even listened to the episode, I opened up this entry type box so I could; listen, pause, type, listen, squeal happily, pause, type. LOL. I'll end up listening to it a lot of times anyways, as I usually do most things I cover~
"I was always worried that I wasn't going to get any views or whatever."
Is this girl mad? Nah, we all have doubts sometimes, nee? But wonderful Buggy didn't know that she needn't have them, because her radio show is AMAZING, and I am not the only one who thinks so. Her first episode had 300 views, an Average Rating of 4.67, and she has received oodles of honors already! (See profile for listing)
Buggy has caught a lot of people's attention. Including mine. LOL, I was talking to Fae (nytefaerie) earlier today, and she mentioned Yo Project. It went something like this (I BS-ed the wording);
Aya; HOMG, where did I hear about them from?!
Fae; Uhhh, Dubber's Radio?
Aya; YUSH ! ! ! ♥ (I was thinking hearts in my head)
That's just the great thing about Dubber's Radio. Besides giving useful information, and getting to hear Buggy's thoughts/advice - you can also discover a lot of Projects or websites that you never knew about!! Call it advertising or shameless plugging; whatever you want. It's an awesome spreading of word that brings the YT dubbing community closer together!
[;w;] kgjebgjkbrjkgergnrjkgnrkjgnerk. I feel so mushy-happy right now. You know the feeling you get when someone compliments you, and you're just all smiley and happy? Yeah, I'm feeling that times like, a kajillion. A huge thanks to Buggy for talking about my blog on her show. It means so much to me!!
And I've actually got to give some props. Rae (SingingOnDemand) was the one who planted the seed in my mind, by casually commenting that I should start a dubbing blog. So I did. And now I love this thing SO much. I really really enjoy what I do on here, and I'm glad that I can make other people happy too. Everyone should get a little sunshine spotlight now and then.
[*] OH! And in reply to Buggy's comment about not knowing if I do any dubbing; No I don't. I love to sing! I sing to myself like, all day. Whatever H!P or other song comes into my head. I don't dislike my singing, but I don't think I'm anything special; but isn't that how most people think? You are your toughest critic.
I've had some people ask me to dub, and I am considering it. My biggest problem right now is a lack of equipment; I have no speakers or mic. I do have a camera, which could do for now. And since I'm on layoff, I have lots of freetime (but not always an empty noise-free house, lol). Ugh, I can't believe I'm doing this. But here is a little something on my boxnet I recorded for a few friends, just as a voice sample.
ANYWAYS, moving on!
[*] I'm super interested in this episode's topic; Mixing! I am completely mixing dumb. Well, I can't say that I've ever tried. But I have played around with Audacity, and let's just say I know how to make myself sound like a chipmunk. . . . LOL, I loved the Depressing Karaoke Bar effect!
I don't have many comments to make on Buggy's sections on mixing, except that I found it all very interesting to listen to, especially from an experienced mixer. I do agree that Audacity isn't too hard to figure out, so if you are a beginner, I would say to give it a go first. Plus, it's free! Here is a link to the download page. OH, and I was curious. Buggy mentioned that Audacity is free. Is Audition as well?
I think it's so cool that Buggy chose this dub, cause at one point I was going to cover it here! But I got sidetracked. I shall have to do IroKokoro Project's next dub instead~ I completely agree with Buggy. This dub is so EPIC *clicks the download link* The song has really grown on me through listening to Bishoujo's cover of it.
So this is how it went; I met Rae. Rae was in MidoriProject. I really liked MidoriPro. Leader Takara created IroKokoro. I really really like IKP. I discovered HanaProjectDubs. I LOVE HanaP.
As far as dubbing groups go, I think IroKokoro is right behind HanaPro. (On my personal rating scale). I haven't been paying them enough attention lately. So I will try really hard to get an entry up about them. Thank you to wonderful miss Buggy for the inspiration.
And most definitely, for all her work that brought up this awesome episode.
DR- Episode 2 Keywords & Quotes ~
Audacity
(+)"The interface is really easy to use. And it's a great program for beginners, because I feel like it's relatively uncomplicated."
(-)"What I don't like about it, is that there's not a lot of effects. And the effects it does have, they aren't the best."
Audition
(+)"I find that the timing mechanisms work better for me. . . I love that I can kind of just slide my file around. And, for me, it ends up going faster that way."
(+)"Also, what makes Audition really good are the effects. The one thing I cannot live without is reverb. But like, as I said, there's a lot of effects, so that be really mind boggling."
(-)"The other thing I hate about Audition, is that there is no re-do for the multi-track effect. I mean like, what the heck."
(=)"Even with the cons, it's (Audition) the program I use."
LOL Value
"Ah dur ah dur ah dur."
"It is not Buggy-friendly."
"And the Mac is like; Oh no Buggy's coming. It's time to roll over and die."
