sakura iro

If I am anything, I am an optimist. Generally a cheerful, bright person who likes to see the good side of things, as y'all have probably figured out from my ramblings in this blog, lol. When you love a song as much as I love this next song, it can be difficult not to go comparing (I'm going to guess that I'm not the only one this happens to?)

But I gives props to each of these gals for giving this song a go! Slower songs aren't always easy, this one especially with the slow melodies, held out notes, and it's fair share of lower & higher notes. Not every part of this dub is OMGYES but there are many many wonderfully sung lines and overall it's very sweet and totally puts a smile on my face.

And when it comes to dubbing / singing, the happiness (etc) you feel from doing so is firstmost, and the happiness (etc) of others is just extra cookie dough chunks in the icecream. Now my friends, let us merely take passing note of the little oops' and focus on the beauty of the song and the delightful job this cast of marvelous misses did!

Yaguchi Mari: Nae [NaeHoshiChan]
Yoshizawa Hitomi: Meche [lilxicanita]
Kago Ai: Kiwa [kiwa1896]
Takahashi Ai: Lina [supahwicked]
Konno Asami: Ayruii [cover]*
Niigaki Risa: Chiemi [Chiemichanko]
Kamei Eri: Stella [StellaUta]

Sakura Mankai by Cherry Musume (SugoiCherryProject) / Lina!! She suits Ai well and does an awesome job on her part! I loooove her vibrato, she sounds beautiful, especially her "hito" ~ Kiwa follows, and isn't she just darling?! She sings the lyrics a little off, sounding something like "eme aeba 'o'o some" ~ I don't hear the 'HoHo' and though she sings the 'aeba' & 'some' right, her 'me ga' sounds like something else. She could work on pronunciation and perhaps enuciation. But that aside, she sounds very sweet.

I really like Stella (1:03)- her "tsu" is lovely, and she shows her strength on "na ni chika" ~ as she was building up to her held out "ku" I was waiting to see what it was going to sound like, and her control surprised me a bit, but pleasantly so. It shouldn't have, since I've heard her wonderful singing before, but it's been a while. She hits the note a little softer in volume but in turn her pitch and sound is splendid!

1:27 is Nae, though the second syllable of her ending "na" is a little off, I adore the unqiue sound of her voice!! Overall her solo is pretty, I especially love the 'ki' in her "genki" ~ I really like Ay/Chi's "yo" (1:44ish), they blend fantastically!! 1:49 is Na/Li/Chi on the beginning of the first chorus, the girls aren't entirely in sync but they sound terrific all the same. 2:03 is Nae, her "mou" is adorably unique and I like her "ni naranai kurai"

Chiemi at 2:08, she's pitchy, some of her notes are off and she sort of changes the key of the melody, singing it somewhat different than it's supposed to be sung. She also throws in an extra syllable; 'koi no hana ga m a n kai'? She needs to work at having more control, but lurking under her offish notes you tell she has a swell voice; her "koi" is nice and her ending "i" is more iffy than off.

Me
/Ki/Ay/St sing together on the main melody at about 2:13, and I am totally digging their blending!! Especially their "toki" and "ga" ~ Stella's 2:25ish solo is endearing; her "nee" is off, and her "kokuhaku" a little funky but I like her energy and her ending "mete" is cute. Kiwa's following "yasashiku..." is a sweet finish. 2:57 is the next verse and my favorite solo from Meche, you can really hear the clear lovely sound of her voice on "hatsukoi no iro" and her higher "ne" is a pretty.

3:09 is Ayruii- ekjfnhe jkwfefn Frick she's magnificent! I adore her "iro" and "yo" ~ both low notes that she hits spot on and gorgeously! I also like the little echo. Goodness, I love just about every word out of Nae's mouth!! Her 3:21 solo is as sensational as all the rest of her lines; her "no" is pure win. Chiemi follows and this time she's not anywhere near pitchy as before, her "mo" is short but marvelous! The second half of her solo differs from the actual melody, but doesn't sound bad; her "nen" & ending "no" are nice.

I always end up swaying back and forth in my chair when I listen to this song, lol. It's so soothing. 4:26 is Ayruii, sounding as lovely as before! She's a cover, but I really hope to hear her in more SugoiCherryPro releases. The rest of the dub is chorus, all of the "aa" "nee" "saa" etc group parts throughout the dub are delightful! 5:38- ahhh there's that clear pretty voice of Meche's again! 5:55 is the kawaii Kiwa, followed by Liana's enchanting closing solo. Overall this is a fabulous dub!!
