Risa [omgspazattack]

Yuri [Fuonyuri]
Otakebi Boy WAO! by alo!kira (xxHelloSparkle) / CClyrics / I've had this pushed off to the side for a while now. It's partially cause my crazy OCDish ways, lol. I don't like writing about a song if I just recently wrote about it, and at the time someone else had done WAO too. And I like to blog about one project, then wait a few entries before blogging about them again. But because I'm horribly behind and mainly just working on requests, I kept wanting to do it and then couldn't get around to it. NO MORE!
Sometimes I totally forget that alo!kira has a blog. Well, to be exact it's their producer's blog; Tsuku. But it's mainly all stuff related to the project, including discography, downloads and information. One thing that I truly love about this project is their line division. When I was reading the drop-down to the dub and saw Izumi's comment ("WE HAVE EVEN LNE DISTRIBUTION, SEE?!") I was like; OHYEAH!
"The main focus of alo!kira is to give everyone in our group EVEN opportunities to sing! We love Hello!Project, but we are very disappointed in the fact that not every girl under the label gets her time to shine. We figure that if we all love to sing, why shouldn’t everyone get their chance in the spotlight?" (taken from the blog's 'About' page) I'm not against casted dubs, they're cool. But with the songs that H!P is really unfair in (ex: a lot of C-ute songs), it's nice to have things divided up more fairly.
Izumi did not have an easy time mixing this. "Garageband decided to eat, maim, destroy, and kill)" her first draft, resulting in her having to start over. So I'm going to be overlooking the volumes in this and focusing on the vocals and overall sound. Yuri has the first solo, and while she has a lovely strong voice, I think she could use more PAWAA; plus her ending "bi" is a bit funky. 0:34 is Okie, freaking sweet as candy. I do like her more on slower songs (or cuter stuff more so than fierce, lol), but all the same, she's marvelous in this.
I really like Risa's 0:40 solo, her "bakari" is sensational. And I'm loving the following trio parts (Iz/Ok/Yu). Izumi at 0:46 sounds great with the effect, her delivery is spot on but she could use a pinch more umph! Ohmy, Yuri's 0:49 solo is killer! I love love it! And I'm digging Okie's next solo a lot too!!; she's excellent! The 0:55 group "Jibun de yanakya!" is so gooood. And a great lead into the chorus~
I don't know if it's cause I've heard this song dubbed a kazillion times, and thus know the song enough to expect a lot of power, but I just feel that this could have more energy overall. I love the girls to pieces, but so far I like other dubs of theirs more than this. Honesty is the best policy, eh? Anyways; all the various part so of the chorus -solos, duets, group parts- are terrific. These gals blend wonderfully together! Solo wise, Risa's lovely at 1:00 and Izumi at 1:06 is kickbutt!
1:09 to 1:21 is all fantastic, including Okie's solo at 1:15, and Yuri's "Yattekuru" ~ plus, I adore the duets. I've yet to mention the spectacular "OH WAO"s! They're in the beginning and all over between the lines; and every single time this cast pwns them. Uwah, I like Izumi's 1:33 solo oodles! And Risa at 1:39 is total love! I adore how she rolls her 'r' in "yatsura" ~ (Btw, sorry if this sucks at any point, it's getting late and I'm getting sleepy, lol).
More fabulousness from 1:45 to 2:01!! There are far too many splendid solos in this dub to talk about them all, lol. I love Izumi at 2:04, she's magnificent and has a sort of an adorable yet rockin' sound. The "SUPAAKU BOOI"s in this are also pretty epic. After the instrumental break it's Yuri at 2:55ish, followed shortly by Okie (3:00) - both girls are outstanding and sound smashing. Izumi's 3:10 solo is awesome!! And Risa has the last solo ("Matteiru") before a last round of "WAO"s.
I said this could use more energy -and I still think that slightly- but even so this is a wonderful dub. It's not crazy low on energy or anything, no no no, and the cast is super talented; this particular song just makes me want more, since I think that it really calls for a lot of passion. I'm always ecstatic to hear stuff from alo!kira, and y'all should be too! This is totally worth a listen~ Again, I apologize if I'm sort of rambly in this, my brain is starting to shut down.
