Bah, got nothing accomplished today. Too sleepy to focus well enough. But here is a little something to tide y'all over 'til I get to blogging tomorrow!! This was shared with me via Totally Up! Project~
"We are Dez-Air, an-all girl group made up of four members. We are situated in the United States and do English covers of songs by Korean artists such as Wonder Girls and Girls' Generation. We always credit the lyricist when we use their lyrics for our music videos."
Completely off subject, but y'all have no idea how crazy I can be about little things. Just looking at the banner, I love it, but the words aren't centered. I am talking myself out of fixing it right now, cause I don't really want to, lol. *twitches* But anyways!! The above info was pulled from Dez-Air's blog, which doesn't have much to it yet, but I'm sure it will in the future. Their members are;
Eri [Leader, Main Vocalist, Rapper]
Krissy [Sub-Leader, Main Vocalist]
Elizabeth [Vocalist, Dancer]
Lina [Vocalist, Dancer]
The group has a YT channel too, where they have uploaded their very first dance-cover / fandub. There they have also listed Chocolate Love (SNSD) & If You Can Dream (Disney Princesses ~ Studio Version) as future music videos!! I am very excited about both of them! But as for their first release;
Nobody / 2,000+ views! Though this has been up since May 20th, so it's had a little time for that number to build up. The lyrics are by JeAnne Ehriel, who did her own dub of this song as well (it's homg fabulous). And y'all know how I adore having lyrics handy, so I copy&pasted them into google docs for reference.
Wow! You can tell that a lot of work went into this; the video quality is great, and way it's shot is so smooth, like it was done professionally. And actually - "Krissy realized she could do a music video of 'Nobody' for a college video project. . . .Krissy wrote the script, filmed the music video, and edited it all together." So if it's for a college class, then Krissy most likely has a really good idea of what's she doing; the final result is epic! She and the rest of the group (as well as those who helped out) should be very happy / proud!
I really like the beginning part! I love that this has video has a story to it, and one that goes with the song so well! LOL "She thinks she's the cat's meow, but she's really the lion's roar." - I really like that girl, though I don't know her by name. I do know that the next to her in the pinkish shirt is Elizabeth, who "was casted as the Lead Heroine figure."
The drop-down section tells us this ~ Solo Vocals [by Eri & Krissy], Rap: [by Eri], Back-Up Vocals: [by Elizabeth & Lina]. I don't know who sings when, so I didn't color code the lyrics at all. I adore the two girls on the backup vocals!!! Eri and Krissy sound marvelous, but for me, Elizabeth and Lina add so much to this dub overall. I enjoyed listening as much as I enjoyed watching.
Once in a while I wasn't entirely sure what was being said in solo here or there, but not too oftenly, and after I got the lyrics they helped. Speaking of, I didn't pay mega attention, but I did notice that on the rap the lyrics were said wrong. It's - "Why do you keep on pushing me away? Why do you push me away?" and Eri sings the second part twice, but it's a easy mix up, since the two sentences are so similar.
The harmonies / backing vocals, and the chorus (all parts of it) are my favorite things in this! There are numerous splendid solos and I like the melody of the verses, but the chorus is just so good. Most definitely worth a listen! I subbed to Dez-Air and I am totally looking forward to more from them!

Thanks so much for the review. Lina is the one who says ""She thinks she's the cat's meow, but she's really the lion's roar." Just in case you were wondering. She and Elizabeth will have solos in upcoming videos. Nobody was recorded in September-ish of last year when Eri and Krissy were just in the group, so later on we just added Lina and Elizabeth to the choruses/backing vocals.
ReplyDeleteYou will see more of those two in the future. :)
