Ryan (raiannosekai) ~ I totally don't know him at all, but I was poking around on Yoproject forums just now and with a click and a click I'd found him and this dub! It's his first ever! Props to him for doing all the recording & mixing and actually getting something up *cough* Maybe I'll get around to it eventually, idk.
Wow. With a little more confidence he could blow people away! He has such a beautiful tone!! Low but lovely, and he's only 14! Just gotta do as Dani on Yoproject said and "belt that shit out" ! He'll have us girls melting into happy little puddles of mush. I'm already getting some little shivers, jeepers. But yeah, no need for nerves; this is wonderful.
Pitching was pretty well done; I heard some odd/off notes, but not tons and nothing glaringly bad. I'm not familiar with the song, so I don't know how easy or difficult it is to sing. He used vibrato frequently throughout the song and it sounds marvelous. I adore his lower notes, they're so. . . .fnkfnjkefnkewjf. I can't think of a word for it. Velvety?
1:15 = LOVE. ohemgee. I really like how he sounds there. The part when he starts low and goes up to that high note; lovely. And his transfering from one note to the next was smooth, for the majority of the song. This is not bad at all for a first dub!! I'm curious how his voice would sound on a different melody. I look forward to hearing more!
Sometime last week I asked the leader of HirariYOdubs for more information on their project, and I am now finally getting around to sharing it with y'all. Geesh Aya. So without any rambling, here we go~
AYA: *How many groups are there?* & *How many members total are there in the entire project?* & *What do they (each group) cover?*
HIRARI: As with AKB48, there will be 3 groups that make up Hirari*YO; Team H (7 Members), Team R (7 Members), Team Y (0 Members). . . .we only just got Team R. We also have 1 trainee member which takes the total to 15 girls.
Each girl is placed into a subgroup; Waru*SHOGA (They cover power pop and rock inspired songs) or FURA*SHOGA (They cover cuter sounding idol songs). . . .Then we have units. These are totally optional; Yuu.wa.ku (Covers SDN48), BiriB (Covers No3b), DoNdOn (Covers Watarirouka Hashiritai), SKETCH (Covers anime & Game songs), Iroro (Covers various other groups outside of AKB48).
AYA: *Anything else you can think of?*
HIRARI: A fair few girls haven't really dubbed in groups before (and outside of H*Y generally don't), so (they) aren't totally sure what's expected of them yet. I believe that slowly and steadily is the best approach for them, in that I can give them feedback after each single, and watch them improve little by little. I don't want to go stressing people out by giving them too much to try and handle at once.
There are girls that have great potential that I want to bring out, and I think for me personally, it's not about being the number 1 group, having the most subscribers etc; its trying to bring out the best in the members we have and watching them getting better, and even more importantly GIVING them an opportunity to improve. I like to keep things light hearted so people don't find it a chore to keep doing dubs."
Thanks so much for taking the time to talk to me! I shall be keeping an eye out for the next Hirari release!
