Freaking long day. Worked 9 to 9. A little annoyance from biatches, but mostly just a long day. I was extremely bummed when I realized that I wasn't going to get much time online tonight. Less time means less blogging, which makes me sad. But I shall do as Hinagiku says and try to BE HAPPY~ Lol, all day today I had dubs in my head.
Nanchatte Renai - Mango Musume
BE HAPPY! Koi no Yajirobee - Hinagiku (Hana Pro)
Cafe Buono - Grazie! (Bonbon Project)
That was like, my mental playlist today. Mango was my driving music, I kept on singing it in my car, but other times as well. Be Happy was just stuck in my head cause of it's epicness. Bonbon came into my head out of nowhere. I covered their Cafe Buono dub a little bit ago, and so I'm very familiar with the cute dub. I kept hearing the girls going "Ciao!"
The wonderful Izumi [faraBANG] contacted me, and cutely requested that I listen to a dub by alo!kira project, hosted on YT channel xxHelloSparkle. The group has a very informative profile, which is lovely.
This "group of girls who love to cover Japanese songs" is mainly focused on giving "everyone in our group EVEN opportunities to sing." I definitely agree that H!P isn't always fair with line division, sadly. And so I think this is a wonderful idea. "We figure that if we all love to sing, why shouldn't everyone get their chance in the spotlight? That idea created alo!kira ('hello' in French, 'sparkle' in Japanese)."
Aha! Now the YT username makes sense, lol. The project was formed on December 01, 2009 and has since released five dubs. There is currently only one generation, consisting of five girls. "Sounds Like: We'd like to think we sound like our own sound" - such a great way to think.
Izumi [faraBANG] ** various solos
Risa [omgspazattack] ** mainly Niigaki solos
Noeruu [kingdomheartstibute] ** mainly Takahashi solos
Okie [DivaDagger] ** mainly Yoshizawa solos
Yuri [Fuonyuri] ** mainly Fujimoto solos
I am not an Egao YES Nude fan, sorry Momusu. And unfortunately, I've already fully covered this song, so I won't do it again, least not now. But I must say, these girls sound great!! Since Izumi was sweet enough to share with me, I shall share with y'all!
Since it's not really defined who sings when (and we all know I fail at functioning without a listing) I'm not going to comment on the different girls' voices, cause I'll confuse myself. But! So so many lovely voices, they suit this song well, and sound fabulous together! I didn't pick out any wrong notes from my like dozen+ listenings.
I know or semi-know most of the dubbers in this (or are at least familiar with their voices), except for Noeruu. So I'll have to have a peek at her profile. The 'kingdom' part of her username niggles at my mind, but idk. "Please keep on the look-out for this single's B-SIDE, Lover's Creme and MY PUDDING, which is scheduled to come out on April 27." I definitely shall!!
The producer/head of alo!kira, Tsuku, has a blog about the project; announcing releases and giving advice, compliments and critique to the members. The entries are amazingly detailed, which I think it awesome! Also, A!K has their own forum, including a small Basic and History thread.
OH! And the title isn't saying that I feel 'eguh' about the dub, 'eguh' sums up my day at work, lol. And then hearing this Egao dub made it better!
I'd like to thank all the wonderful people who take the time to drop a comment or say something in my shoutbox. It makes me ridiculously happy to read everyone's feedback and I love talking to and about you fabulous people.
And due to such feedback, I now have the full cast list for Mango Musume's dub of Nanchatte Renai - YAY! Big thank you to Serené! That entry has been edited and the cast list updated! Also in reply to Sootie & Serené on my 'KiraKiraProject - SEXY BOY' entry;
You are both very very welcome!! I'm so glad that to you liked my wall of text. Keep being awesome, gals! & Serené, I know you'll eventually knock us off our feet. Just keeping singing, just keep singing, just keep singing singing singing~
