Rae

Again by Rae (SingingOnDemand) / WHERE DO I BEGIN?!?!? I don't even know how to go about saying all that I feel and think. It took Rae a while to get this down, cause it's such a tricky song to sing, with all the faster parts and the different melodies. I'm awed and amazed by the end result and give Rae props for even thinking of taking on this song, on top of crazy props for tackling it successfully! I'm really glad that she shared something so personal and special with everyone.

Rae is gorgeous on the verses! I suck at song terminology, but this song is like; melody1 melody2, prechorus (melody3), chorus (melody4). So I guess you could consider the first two melodies to both be part of the verse, just different sounding. This song is a mix of lovely, passionate and rockin' ~ it's variety making it unique and awesome. Rae sounds amazing on all of it, like the first part of the verse (0:21 & 1:33); breathtakingly pretty. Alas, it's not very long and only occurs twice, but I savor it. It's also a wonderful start to the dub.

I instantly loved Rae on the second part of the verse (0:34 & 1:46). I really like the melody itself -I adore the lowness of it paired with the changing speed- so when I heard her singing it I was just like; fjnjkfnjkenf *slack jaw, tingles, drool, rabueyes* There is some backup singing included that isn't by Rae, but her voice fits in with it all perfectly. And it shows how spot on she is, because she's in sync with the backup singer; awesome timing!

The pre-chorus (0:48 & 2:00) is PURE WIN! It's the trickiest part of the whole song because it's so freaking fast!! Frick, I can't even sing the verses to Berryz's Tomodachi without screwing something up (well, I've never actually super practiced though, lol). And I was talking to Rae one day and told her that after I kept screwing it up I had a new appreciation for her (because she was Risako in Yamabuki's dub of it). ....Well now I'm just dumb struck. Rae must have spent SO MUCH TIME AND ENERGY to get this part down right.

Tons of frustration and tripping over words and re-doing lines, etc. That's pure dedication, determination, and 'if at first you don't succeed' try dozens of times again. For those who have ever passed on a song because it's too hard or they just can't get it right, I'll bet this is very inspiring. *busts out in song* "DON'T STOP BELIEVING" Be the Little Engine that Could! ~ I'm very proud of Rae for giving this dub her all, so much that it makes me mushy with joy and good feelings.

OH MY GAWD I haven't even gotten to the chorus yet (1:01 & 2:13). It's beyond beautiful, so far beyond that there isn't a word for it yet! Rae sounds smashingly superbly stunningly spectacularly snazztasically sensational!!! (well, that applies to the chorus as well as the dub as a whole). Again, she sounds so natural with the backup singers; like she came out with the song and they were picked to suit her. Rae totally rocked the chorus, singing so strongly and with passion. She's addicting to listen to.

2:37 is a different melody, and just one more part of this song that Rae sounds awesome on. I like it all, especially since you can really pick up on the feeling that she's singing out with. I like her "me wo samase"s ('open your eyes') ~ 3:12 is so so so lovely. I love how it's the chorus' melody, only slower with barely any backing music and with different+great lyrics. It leads right into one last amazing chorus before it's over. One hell of a dub.

I've never seen FMA or read up on it, so the video doesn't make tons of sense to me since I'm not familiar with the storyline. But I enjoyed watching nonetheless, and I think a lot of the scenes matched up with the parts of the song they were shown during. Like the battle scenes during the upbeat chorus. The characters with wind blowing about during the non-chorus parts. And I love the red symbol-thing at 0:34 on the second part of the verse. Just fits with the lowness of the melody.

I like how Rae matched up the guy speaking at 0:46, 1:58ish & 3:46. And the scene at 1:51ish (again on the second part of the verse) with the flower field, the wind, and the metal-dude. I also love how the 2:13 chorus, blondie jumps off the cliff and it shows the waterfall behind him. And the scene towards the end with the girl offering her hand and the rain clearing up. Overall the video mixing, audio mixing and singing is incredible! ILY RAEBEE~
