CONTACT ESTABLISHED~

Lol, when I think contact, I think aliens. So the title of this entry is super random. The other day Asuka (scarlettalchemist17) contacted me via email to recommend Kyoku Project. She also hoped I would promote their latest releases & the recently opened Kyoku Project 5th Generation auditions. She was extremely polite, and since I don't get too many PMs or emails asking me to check stuff out, I jumped at the chance. I've been a busy little bee, so I haven't gotten around to it until now. But here we go~

"To give you a little information about Kyoku Project, our founder & leader of the project is Naoly (oONaolyOo). We have a total of six groups (Morning Akari, Amaki, Hana Faiya, Tamago!, Niji Kirei, MarionKing and Sololists). Also overall we have a total of 18 members as well."

From what I can tell, Kyoku doesn't manage things by generations of the overall project, but by the gens within their different groups. Much like how Momusu runs things. Their most recent releases are by their soloist Ayuchi and their group Morning Akari, whose third single was released all at once on May 20th. It has an A-side, B-side and a Special Track, totaling three in all.

Asuka sent me the links to all of these, but since I was only going to talk about one of them here, I chose 3, 2, 1 BREAKIN' OUT - mainly because I don't think I've ever covered it. But also because I've seen / heard a lot of Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai dubs lately, lol. So for this dub, here is the cast, as listed by generation;

1st generation:
Hanna / HannaPulla
Mikitty / Mikitty330

2nd generation:
Zlil / zlilzlilzlil
Rina / Finalheaven93
Suki / ArabianLover27
Asuka / ScarlettAlchemist17

3rd generation:
Naoly / oONaolyOo

4th generation:
Zarah / ChunkyyBanana

3, 2, 1 BREAKIN' OUT by Morning Akari / I'm not a huge fan of this song. I think it's incredibly cute / fun, but it's not something I'd pick first off of a list songs to listen to or anything. I didn't know what to expect, and to say I was surprised almost makes it sound like I wasn't expecting much, but I totally don't mean it that way! I was just like; WOW, when the singing actually started. And I'm not just talking about Mikitty's epic opening solo.

Everything! There are some iffy notes here and there, and once in a while on a group note there was some minor dischord, but overall I really like this! There are a lot of awesome singers, which in turn there are oodles of fabulous solos and more! Back to Mikitty, she has an amazing voice and sang with loads of energy / emotion; I love it! I really like Rina and Naoly together at 0:30 - You don't hear either one by themself much, but they sound good together; and one of the two sounds SO good on their duet, but I don't know who.

0:45 is Zarah and Zlil - aha! I swore I heard a low voice somewhere and it's Zlil! He isn't super easy to hear, but I really like his "kibou." Zarah is a fantastic singer, and one that I'm familiar with. She rocked her lines! The "tachiagare" by Hanna, Asuka and Naoly right before the 'AH's has great attitude. The 'AH's start out nice the first few, but as more people join not everyone is on key and so it sounds a little off in the end.

My total favorite part of this dub is the chorus! There is some great blending going on there, and plus it's the best part of the song itself. I really like all of the "Count Down 3, 2, 1 Breakin' Out" parts throughout. Asuka's "mou mate nai sa" solo at 1:31 was pretty good, and Hanna sings with awesome attitude at 1:44, Saki follows at 1:57.

Oh! You can hear Zlil much better at 2:04, and I like it! Mikitty and Hanna make a super duo, like at 2:10; fricking marvelous~ jkfbjkwfbew ! More epic chorus! I also like the little "woo" sound after the 'AH's right before the chorus; adorable! Rina, Zarah and Mikitty sound awesome as a group at 4:01. Overall there are a few people who are a little pitchy or hit some iffy notes, but I really enjoyed this~
