HOW have I NOT even thought of covering Stella Voci on here?! Dubbing is all find and dandy, I really love it. But honestly, Stella Voci is on a whole different level. This kind of stuff SERIOUSLY BLOWS YOUR MIND.
"We are the fourteen-girl singing group known as Stella Voci! Our number has recently increased from 9 to 14. . . .We come from all over the world, but are able to form this online choir because of the wonders of the internet ^0^"
As said, they have fourteen members, so I am not going to list them all out. But here is a link to their YouTube page, and all the members of the choir are listed there, along with links to their own individual YTs. They've only released two songs since beginning, but I can't even imagine the amount of time and work that goes into just one song *tries* Oh, there went my mind; blown again.
They are lead by katethegreat19 who not only heads the choir, but also arranges and directors all of their music. She is amazing! She plays a ton of instruments ("I am a singer/songwriter and I also play harp, guitar, violin, drums and a myriad of other instruments"). And she has a beautiful voice, and some serious killer musical skillz!
Amazing. I'm not going to really be saying anything about the individual singers, since this is way over my head. I just wanted to share the beauty of their music with y'all. If you like just listening to breath-taking instrumentals, classical music, or orchestra pieces; this is for you. Besides the light backing music (played by Kate), everything is all vocals. It's so so beautiful.
If you're into the Final Fantasy games, then you'll like this video. I'm not sure if that's where the song comes from, but regardless; it's spectacular. So many amazingly talented singers. I really like the melody of it, and the girls sound sweet/lovely/beautiful/pretty/angelic/amazing.
~ But yeah, I mostly just wanted to put them up here for y'all to check out.
AND since I'm already sort of on the subject, I want to put up some of my other favorite stuff. I first heard Paperblossom when looking through the video reply auditions for Stella Voci's search for more members. I love Stella Voci, but I adored Paperblossom before I even knew she made it into the choir. She really stands out to me; I love her singing. EPIC.
Some of you know I am a Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki fan, and one of the movies I like is Castle in the Sky. I LOVE the theme song to it, and here is a cover of it sung by Paperblossom. This is one of my complete favorite pieces by her. You should totally listen. And definitely have a look at her profile, if you're into covers like this.
And one last thing. The auditions had three parts to it; range/scales, reading sheet music, and a song of their choice. For hers, Paperblossom chose Odin Sphere's theme song. And her cover of it is AMAZING. Since it's at the end of the audition video, you can click on the above image, and download it from my boxnet.
Thanks to all of my readers ! ! ! ILU ~

ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely amazed. They play their own instrumental, too!
Whoa. I love to listen to this kinda stuff occassionally. That song..... It's a really REALLY old folk song. I know that Simon and Garfunkel has a version of it. Thanks for posting about this!
