I split the entry up into seperate parts, because the interviews always take up a lot of room, making the entry super long. So I wanted to spilt it up some, so it wasn't a complete walloftext-ness, LOL.
I was going to go with H!Stage's latest release, Koi no Jubaku. But the moment I heard Nagareboshi's Suki-Chan, I just had to cover it. I have listened to Kuusai's dub though, and it's worth a listen. Cast;
Fukuda Kanon - Beth [ bibblebobble629 ]
Maeda Yuuka - Chiyo [ xchiyochii ]
Ogawa Saki - Farara [ farabang ]
Wada Ayaka - Yuri [ fuonyuri ]
UWAH, this dub is so full of cuteness and win! When I think S/mileage, I think cute. And when I hear these girls singing, they are definitely cute! This dub has great energy levels, which is almost a must when singing this song. It's so upbeat and makes you wanna jump/dance.
[*] Beth's "RU RU RU"s in her 0:20 line are epic. They were spot on and totally adorable. Following her is Yuri, whose voice I really liked right off the bat. All of the girls really suit their parts in this song. Often times I am super reminded of the H!P girls they are covering.
I don't know how to describe Chiyo's singing. It's very cute, with a unique sound to it. Something about her voice niggles at my mind. She did a good job on Yuuka's lines! And I liked Farara at 0:28 quite a bit. I like how well she delivers her lines, going up or down on the notes whenever she needs to and sounding great!
[*] Oh, Farara at 0:39 really fits Saki!! 0:42 wasn't a very long solo, but Yuri sounded real cute on it. And as for the chorus, I love love the group parts! The girls sound fabulous together! 0:55, Beth rocked her solo! homg, pure awesome. 1:10 was a really good line for Chiyo, she sounded great on her ending "chaou"
Woah, starting with the next set of solos at 1:34, I picked right up on the backing vocals that were sung during the first and third lines, and I loved it!! It sounds like the other three girls doing the back up vocals. Right? I went back and listened to the previous solos, and it wasn't done then.
[*] Out of the four, I think Yuri has the most mature voice. She sings very cleary, and her voice is so lovely. I really liked all of her lines. And I think Beth has the most energy, or at least when I'm listening really hard for it, she stands out the most to me. She's fun to listen to. Farara's energy is pretty good. At times, Chiyo and Yuri could have used a little bit more umph!!
[*] LOL, okay so I've got to tell y'all something about the "suki-chan"s that start at 2:20. I have a Pomeranian-chihuahua, and she is my baby. You're probably thinking; annoying little yapper. And yeah, she does bark at strangers. But she shuts up after a little bit and she doesn't bite. Plus she is freaking adorable and cuddly.
Her name is Suki. I baby talk her all the time. And after I heard this song, I would do the little hands-spread-by-my-face and chant "suki chan suki chan, suki suki suki chan" to her endearlying. LOL. I'm so lame. But yuh. The moment I chose this song, I knew I'd have to share this little weird bit about me with you.
[*] In the case of these girls' "suki chan"s they are awesome! I also really liked the "WOW WOW WOW FOREVER" parts! And all the little things starting at 2:42, like the echos of "DAISUKI" and the "yeah" and "woo" sounds. But they were good throughout the song really.
2:48 was fantastic on Beth's part, I liked her "Kyou mo kyou mo" and she sounds very kawaii. Plus good energy! Farara at 2:57, I really liked the way she sounded on "Mada ka na" for some reason. It was good. Yuri was also really good on her 3:00 line. And Chiyo finishes off the song on a good note.
[*] Oh, and all of the group part were just as wonderful in the second half of the song, as in the first. Chiyo mentioned that she thought the group parts were too loud, but I don't think they're that bad. I wasn't turning down my volume or anything, and the girls sounded good.
*smiles and makes a peace sign along with the gals in the PV* I really want a piece of that cake right about now. I'm not huge on strawberries, but I'd totally take some of that sugary goodness. Yummy~ lol, anyways. I gave this dub 5 stars!
