CHANCE
Cast: Eva / Brittany / Kiyami / Mai / Ayuchi
Mikan by Musume Charm / This is another one of those songs that I just can't help but like. There are definitely other H!P songs I like more, but this is still a cool song. The beginning is pretty good, Ki/Ma did a nice job. I would willingly let Eva blow my mind any day of the week; she's got an awesome lovely voice and delivered her solos in this wonderfully, but from having heard her before, I expected no less.
0:46 ish is Mai, who's a incredibly cute as ever!! I've become familiar with her kawaii singing and I always enjoy hearing it. 0:52 is Ayuchi, I don't know how to describe what I like about her voice, but it's nice; she could use a little more energy, but she sounds splendid. Mai again right after that, she did a great job on the "dakara" - often times people sound funky on the notes there, or hit them wrong; she just sounds adorable! She has good energy overall, but sings at a soft volume.
The type of headphones make such a difference in how things can be heard. I started this last night, and relistening now, I'm already altering some of my first thoughts. The volumes are a little different throughout the dub - the Ev & Ki parts are often louder than the Br, Ma & Ay parts. But I think Brittany did a pretty swell job mixing. Also the video and audio are not always in sync throughout the dub.
I ADORE the way the Br/Ma/Ay parts sound in the first chorus. The girls could maybe be a bit louder, but the blending is fab. Ev/Ki have the "OH YES" at the start, and the "life is one time" half way through - ohemgee, they make such an awesome duo!! Both have good volume and energy and sound smashing together.
2:02 is Ayuchi, I like her "garu darou" - she has a sort of subtle energy, you can hear the emotion she is singing with, it just doesn't always come across as super noticable. Brittany's one solo in the dub is at 2:09, and it's not much to go on, but from what I hear she sounds very lovely. 2:19 is Kiyami's only solo, she sounds marvelous, though the 'ta' of her "kiita" is a little off. Though it's very cute, even in it's slight offness!
More chorus at 2:35, this time it's mainly Ev/Ay/Ki/Ma. Eva kind of dominates the group, but it's simply because she is the strongest singer in the group. I think I'm hearing Ki or Ay second most, and then Mai hardly at all. Fricking A ~ Eva's 3:20 solo is EPIC. One of the highlights of this dub for me. The Br/Ki "life is one time" around 3:38 is darling.
The following chorus is more balanced and sounds great, and the ending "OH YEAH YOU'LL GET A CHANCE" parts (by everyone) are a fabulous finish. Eva sounds awesome on her solo, and Ayuchi's "chance" is adorable. Overall, the energy and singers' volume could be more equal, not so much in mixing, but individually so. A few girls could notch things up a bit, but I still really enjoyed this.

soo jan! soo jan!
Cast (in order of hearance):
Mai as Momoko
Rii as Airi
Kiyami as Miyabi
Gachinko de Ikou by Choko (MusumeCharm) / [CClyrics] / Ohmygosh, I was sort of doing different blog-related stuff while this was loading, so I just clicked it then went back to what I was doing. But when the vocals started up my ears were like; What's this? And then after a couple more lines I clicked my way back to the video and listened to more. I really really like this dub!! So I was like; blog time!!
!!! Mai has got one of the most kawaii voices ever! Rii has a more mature voice, and Kiyami is sort of borderline mature-lovely/cute. All three of them had awesome first solos! I really like the little speaking part at 1:00, the "hai donmai" - it's not included in the CClyrics, so I think maybe all of those parts are by Buono? idk. This leads right into the chorus; which I love in this song! It's so catchy. The whole song is pretty cool, upbeat.
The girls did a pretty good job on the high notes here. I like the "te iketara" in the first line, around 1:03 - but the whole thing is swell. The "Gachinko de ikou" turned out nice. Rii at 1:16 followed by Kiyami; the high notes are slightly strained here, not horribly, but noticably. I really like the group "yare" at 1:29 - nice blending.
Kiyami's 1:23 confused me. I was following along with the lyrics, and at first I thought she said the wrong line. It's "daisuki na koto wo" but I was hearing; "nai suki na ko PAWAA" - which doesn't even make sense, I don't think. Though after a few repeated listens, I think she is singing the right line, but not clearly. I like Mai's "shiteiru" from the beginning of the next verse, at 1:43. But I've noticed throughout the dub that her ri's sometimes sound like 'E' instead.
After listening to the whole dub a few times, I think my fave line from Rii is her first one, back in the beginning, at 0:39. I like her "ikite iku ze." I counted through and each girl gets almost the same amount of lines, it's super close. I compared the CClyrics to the ones from projecthello, and even though the cast is listed by order of hearence, the solos match up to each of these girls singing as a certain Buono member - so added them as such in the cast.
I really like Kiyami at 3:54! Her whole line there is fabulous! Mai follows with the last solo of the song, sounding quite adorable. The energy level is pretty good overall, especially on the chorus. Regardless of any little things that could be picked at, I like this~

More Musume Charm~
Singers (order of hearance):
Kiyami / Brittany / Ayuchi
Sakura Sakura by Kanbi na Unmei, the B-Side of their second single / Ohhh, this is different than what I've been hearing lately, a very non-pop song, lol. The music is beautiful, and the melody is too. Kiyami has the first bit at 0:38; I like her on "kokoro hodo" and "kimi no kao ga" - some of her notes were slightly off and there's strain on the higher notes, but she still sounds good.
1:23 is Brittany; her more mature voice is a change from Kiyami's - it's nice to have a variety of voices in a group. I really like her "Machi tsuzuketa." Her lower notes are lovely, but she also has a little strain on her few higher notes. This song itself just has some high notes. I'd be straining on them too. I got really confused for a moment when I was waiting for Ayuchi's solo, cause I was following the CClyrics, but they're wrong, lol.
2:22 sounds like duets, and in the original lyrics, it showed that Kiyami & Ayuchi and Brittany & Ayuchi were to duet, so perhaps it's one of those pairs? I don't really know. But the blending sounds lovely! 3:10 is Ayuchi's solo, I'm not sure if she had both lines or not. If I think too hard on it, I'll confuse myself, lol. 3:37 is more duo / group singing (?), and it's wonderful. I think it's my favorite part of the dub. Despite some iffy notes, the girls sounds pretty. I liked the ending.
Their B-side is also out! Anti-hero ~

And!! Time for more tracks from their 21 song concert, Happy Spring Party!~ 2010. MC worked very hard to put out such a long concert. So I'm listening to all 21 tracks, and featuring them now and then in seperate entries. I covered tracks 2 & 3 previously, so moving on to the next two!
Track 4: Lululu by Ayuchi (of Musume Charm) and Rii (of Choko!) / Ayachi sings first, and I kind of wish she was a little louder, not oodles, just a smiden. And even if she's sort of quite at first, she's good about not mumbling her words, and she gets a bit louder later. She does have a very unique voice, and I like it! Rii has fabulous energy! She was a little pitchy at times, but her umph is great and she sings well; lovely voice.
It's cool to hear the harmony parts, I like their "Nakitsukushimasu" at 1:01. Ohemgee, I love the chorus! The "I LOVE YOU FOREVER" and "Demo SAYONARA" parts, which both sing at different times, are fantastic! I these gals on the verses a lot as well. There are minor things that could be a little better, but overall I enjoyed~
I didn't care for Track 5 (Release by Kanbi na Unmei) much, mostly because of the song. But it's still worth a listen!! The cast is; Kiyami, Brittany and Ayuchi.
Misc Auds
"Hanabi! Project is holding their generation 2 auditions where My-chan will finally be settled with fellow Sunlight members." Kerri is such a fun person, and she did a great job on setting up this video for auditions and putting together all the info so that anyone interested has all the information they need! Rules, the form, and a 'how to' of sorts is all in the drop-down section. Don't hesitate to audition if you're interested. Hanabi has had a really good start.

"With the graduation of Nana, we are searching for two new members to join Lady&Love!" Auditions are open until the 30th of May! I really like the dub that's playing during the video. Gah, I love Korean groups, and that's one reason I really like that Musume Charm has a unit like this. Don't miss out!

MC HPS ~ Tracks: 2, 3
Track 2: Marshmallow by C (00sweetmelodys) of Lady&Love / Dwah C sounds darling! I've never heard this song before and I have to say that I don't like marshmallows, lol. But I do like this solo. C's higher notes on the "Marsh" part of the word during the chorus are really nice. She puts emotion into her singing, which makes it interesting to listen to.
The non-verse extra little part at 2:19-2:40 before the chorus comes back in at 2:41 was really cute. With her softer voice, sometimes it just sounds like she could use more energy. I kept debating it and I think her energy is at a pretty good level. Oh! I have heard this song, but only once or so. C did a great job and she sounds adorable.
Cast (*covers) ~ Color-coded lyrics
Suzuki Airi: *Brittany
Tsugunaga Momoko: Rii
Natsuyaki Miyabi: *Kiyami
Track 3: Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! by Choko! / I always forget to look for the lyrics, so I start wondering who is singing when, and then I lol at myself. I really like having the color-coded lyrics on hand. The chorus on this was pitchy, cause you could tell that one of the girls had trouble reaching the notes. For this dub, it was the verses that rocked. Everyone sounds so good on their solos.
Brittany has such a cute/pretty voice, she suits Airi. Some lines could have used more energy though. I really liked her 1:33 solo! Rii has a nice voice, and sounded good on the verses. But she was real pitchy on the chorus. I know they are high notes and it isn't always super easy stay in perfect tune, so she gets props for effort. I like Kiyami's parts a lot, she has a great voice and delivers her lines well. I adored her "A.i.shi.te.ru."
There really isn't much blending on the chorus; Brittany and Kiyami sound nice together but you mostly hear Rii, cause even though she's off, she has a strong voice. Though they can hit them, the other two are softer on the high notes. So the three aren't balanced volume wise. Many people have trouble with KissKissKiss' chorus, so if you keep that in mind and focus on the verses and other parts; this is a marvelous dub.

MCP
Rii, you wonderful girl. She not only talked Kerri of HanabiPro into contacting me - she also referred the leader of Musume Charm, Brittany, to me. She's really a sweetheart and I'm glad to have her support. Brittany messaged me hoping that I'd take a look at the project and help promote them a little. She's away for this next week, leaving subleader Kiyami to manage things.

"While we may not always release perfect dubs, we emphasize on improvement—which we hope will be more noticeable in future singles." Wow! MCP has a wonderful website that has a very clean and easy setup, with a simple sweet layout. From what I've run into most groups are either A) YouTube centered sometimes with a forum or B) forum centered sometimes with a YT account.
MCP seems to be inbetween. I am guessing they started on YT and branched out to having a website and forum. The project began the same date listed on their channel; August 7, 2009. Much like Sekai no Melody, they have member-made single covers and seperate little entry-like pages for each single released. One downside is that they don't have any downloads up, as far as I can tell. Bit of a disappointment, but I'm sure if someone asks they will recieve.
One thing MCP does have that I just love is an 'About: History of Musume Charm Project' page!! LOL, I think I've been subscribed to Kanon, the creator of the project, and never known that she'd had her own group until now. Sadly, sometime mid-January Kanon decided to graduate from the project passing her leadership onto Brittany, though she still helps out.
I'm a little confused about generations, because the channel doesn't list the gens for MCP as a whole and in their About on their website only two gens are mentioned. But the audition video says it's for 4th gen. Who's 3rd gen? I could be missing something, I'm getting sort of sleepy, lol. There are around eight current members total, and MCP is looking for more!
"This audition will be split into three rounds." These auditions are very well set up; requirements, how to, and Judging Criteria are all listed. All the info is in the drop-down section. The first round ends May 13th, 2010. Don't miss out!
Over the past week or so, MCP has been releasing it's first concert (Happy! Spring Party 2010), dub by dub; a total of 21 songs! "The members that participated in this are Brittany, Kiyami, Eva, Mai, Ayuchi, Nana, C, Ter and Rii. These nine girls worked very hard to release this concert, so we hope you enjoy it." Just glancing through the list
I about died when I saw Progressive by Kalafina. There are a lot of ones I'd like to listen to, if I find the time. But we'll start things off with the first song of the concert; Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou by Musume Charm featuring Kanbi na Unmei~
I love this song!! It's so so so pretty. I prefer Icecreamusume's version more, but Momusu's is good too. These lovely gals sound splendid! They all did a wonderful job, I like how everyone sounds together. This dub doesn't have any solos, so there isn't much to comment on individually.
The group doesn't always sound super together; like some people may have held out notes a little longer, or someone was slightly off time on a certain part - all minor things. I really like this! Bah, I need to sleep before I doze off right here in my chair, lol. I'll be back on tomorrow with more!

Nanchatte Renai is by no means my favorite Momusu song, but I do really like it. I have it set as the ringtone for when my mom calls, lol. Fuantei (IroKokoroProject) first track off of their first single, A Solitary Morning / The reason I didn't have this one is because it was just released! I downloaded it before I even listened to it, lol. I know I've covered this. As I'm sitting here studying this, I recall having gone over every second before; I think it was when Egao 9 released it. So I won't be going into full detail on this one.
Violet did a fantastic job as Ai! All of these girls sound fabulous! But I've gotta admit that since Ai is a line whore and Violet has her part, her parts stuck in my head the most. 0:46 is Pearl Pink, I'd like more energy/emotion from here, but she still sounded good; I liked her 2:46 line more. Celeste's rap starting at 1:10 was great! And Cerulean did good backing vocals on those lines.
Amaranth at 1:14 sounded great on her "Oshiete hoshii" and also on her 2:59 solo. Jade did swell on her 1:33 solo; she's good on her verse-solos but I think I like her more on the chorus. Cerulean nailed her solo at 2:13, I love the energy & she sounds cute. 2:52 is Carmine, who sounds freaking wonderful; she makes a good Risa!
Amber and Aqua only get one line with their parts, and it's not very much to go by. But I've heard them in other stuff and I adore them. They mainly contributed to the group parts at 3:41, making them that much more awesome! This is really good. I don't think I heard any wrong notes, the timing was on, the volumes seemed fine. Congrats to these ladies on the debut!

I've had another random idea. I want to do more entries like this, where instead of focusing all on one group, I focus on one song. I've decided to call this Song Search. I haven't exactly figured out how I want to do this, so bear with me for now. I don't want to create a forum, nor do I want the shoutbox getting spammed up over this. So I think I'm going to try formspring.
Here's how SS will work - I'm going to link my formspring on the side bar. Y'all simply enter a song that you'd like me to do a similar entry on. I'm guessing I get at least 50 hits a week, so going from that the first song to be mentioned 10 times will be the next song to be chosen. I may change this number at a later date, idk.Once a song is chosen, I will first search my folder of downloaded dubs for any that I have of it and they will be included in the entry. Next I will search the song title on YouTube, because as most of us know dubs are often mixed in with the actual songs. However many votes the song gets is how many dubs of the song I'll feature (if I can find that many); re-touching base on those I've already covered and mini-covering those I haven't.
*formspring is being pissy right now, so I'll get it up ASAP* I would love feedback on this idea, and if it doesn't go over well after a while I'll simply stop doing it. I immensely enjoy all these different dubs of Nanchatte Renai and always look forward to more. Just for kicks here is one more, also a sort of look into what I'll be blogging about sometime soon; Musume Charm ~
