Uwah & Oops

Again; ILU KAPPA. She keeps me up-to-date on HanaPro going-ons, which is really cool cause otherwise I wouldn't know about this until way later probably (well, not true. I'd probably hear about it from Rae, cause she's awesome too). Anyways! A friendly competition is to be held at HP *drum roll starts and crescendos as catchy fighting style music comes in*

"We have five generations of members, all with different arrays of strengths and weaknesses, and we thought it would be interesting to see how those different people can come together as teams. So each generation has broken up into groups with the rest of their generation-mates and each one has been tasked with producing a dub for their generation.

"Each gen picks their song, a name for their generation, and sings and mixes the dub, so it's completely a representation of that generation. The only constraints are that it needs to be a Japanese song, as that's what HP releases regularly, and that each member has to have at least one solo, so that every member is represented

"On May 28th all five dubs will go up on the Hana Project channel. After that, we'll put up a poll on our forums, open not only to our members but to our lurkers and watchers as well, and everyone will vote on which dub came together best. The winning generation will have their personal YT accounts featured on Hana Project's main channel page for a month."

! ! ! This is such a fun idea! Nothing wrong with a little challenge. And I think I (and probably other fans too) are simply excited at the idea of five dubs being released on the same day. Oodles of Hana-goodness all at once! Plus I'm super curious as to what all the gens will do. I'm not rooting for any certain group of gals right now, just waving my pom-poms for the whole project.

"oops! Well don't I feel sheepish! I finally saw the actual CNN clip today and they DID give us full credit! I wonder why the transcript was wrong??" LOL I feel as sheepish as Kate (katethegreat19). Cause I mini-rambled about it. But it's all good now. It does seem funky that the transcript was wrong, it only showed the first two shorts sentences of what the news-people said and nothing else.

I wrote at the end of last week about how Stella Voci was featured on CNN, but we all thought that credit had not been given. I just checked Kate's channel for an update and when I saw her latest bulletin I searched and searched for the video clip. & I finally found it!!

It's a little lame cause you have to wait 'til like 3:44 out of a total five minutes before SV is mentioned (it loaded slowly for me, and I was feeling impatient, lol). Josh Levs said, "This one is a fourteen person choir named Stella Voci. They do a capella songs and this one. . . well uh, they have a little bit of percussion going. This is Pachelbel's Canon."

I am really happy that SV recieved credit, even if their moment of recognition was short. They are a wonderful choir and an amazing group of girls. Here is the link to the video clip & here is a link to the choir's YT channel.

Stella Voci

Ohemgee CNN, no you didn't. Sadly, yes they did! I was checking out my youtube main page, seeing if I had any notices or such, when I saw Kate (katethegreat19)'s bulletin; "Stella Voci's Canon in D was featured on CNN this afternoon! I didn't get to see it, but I'm so so happy and proud of Stella Voci!"

That's SO awesome! ! ! I didn't get to see it either, but I am hoping a video of yesterday's broadcast is released/uploaded at some point. Or as Kate also said "If anyone happened to record the show, please tell me! I'll ADORE YOU FOREVER!"

But with this exciting news came some disappointing news as well. CNN didn't credit Stella Voci! WTF?! Kate also bulletined that she'd found the transcript of the airing and that she is a "bit disappointed that the video was shown but no credit was given to the ones who sang it."

I'll admit that I bugged her for the transcript's URL, and she was nice enough to PM it to me. gnerjkgnerjkgnjknhtrklhnlnkmtlrh ! ! ! I guess CNN has this thing where some guy talks about videos he's seen on YouTube or something, idk. I read through the transcript, and you wanna know what was said?

"(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

This one has a cappella songs. This is Pachelbel's Canon."

And THAT'S IT! Nothing else. Stella Voci wasn't even named, and that was the least they could do. Freaking A! I adore SV's beautiful breath-taking releases and it bums me that CNN is so flipping lame. If you've never checked out SV I suggest you do so, they are an amazing group run by a very gifted person; Kate.

HOW have I NOT even thought of covering Stella Voci on here?! Dubbing is all find and dandy, I really love it. But honestly, Stella Voci is on a whole different level. This kind of stuff SERIOUSLY BLOWS YOUR MIND.

"We are the fourteen-girl singing group known as Stella Voci! Our number has recently increased from 9 to 14. . . .We come from all over the world, but are able to form this online choir because of the wonders of the internet ^0^"

As said, they have fourteen members, so I am not going to list them all out. But here is a link to their YouTube page, and all the members of the choir are listed there, along with links to their own individual YTs. They've only released two songs since beginning, but I can't even imagine the amount of time and work that goes into just one song *tries* Oh, there went my mind; blown again.

They are lead by katethegreat19 who not only heads the choir, but also arranges and directors all of their music. She is amazing! She plays a ton of instruments ("I am a singer/songwriter and I also play harp, guitar, violin, drums and a myriad of other instruments"). And she has a beautiful voice, and some serious killer musical skillz!

Amazing. I'm not going to really be saying anything about the individual singers, since this is way over my head. I just wanted to share the beauty of their music with y'all. If you like just listening to breath-taking instrumentals, classical music, or orchestra pieces; this is for you. Besides the light backing music (played by Kate), everything is all vocals. It's so so beautiful.

If you're into the Final Fantasy games, then you'll like this video. I'm not sure if that's where the song comes from, but regardless; it's spectacular. So many amazingly talented singers. I really like the melody of it, and the girls sound sweet/lovely/beautiful/pretty/angelic/amazing.

~ But yeah, I mostly just wanted to put them up here for y'all to check out.

AND since I'm already sort of on the subject, I want to put up some of my other favorite stuff. I first heard Paperblossom when looking through the video reply auditions for Stella Voci's search for more members. I love Stella Voci, but I adored Paperblossom before I even knew she made it into the choir. She really stands out to me; I love her singing. EPIC.

Some of you know I am a Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki fan, and one of the movies I like is Castle in the Sky. I LOVE the theme song to it, and here is a cover of it sung by Paperblossom. This is one of my complete favorite pieces by her. You should totally listen. And definitely have a look at her profile, if you're into covers like this.

And one last thing. The auditions had three parts to it; range/scales, reading sheet music, and a song of their choice. For hers, Paperblossom chose Odin Sphere's theme song. And her cover of it is AMAZING. Since it's at the end of the audition video, you can click on the above image, and download it from my boxnet.

Thanks to all of my readers ! ! ! ILU ~
